They also grow in the winter time too its just alot of people don't know that but where im from my people like them when they are mostly all white with no green on them but they will still have the little berry pods sticking out of the ground sometimes you have to dig thru a little bit of hard dirt but its well worth it in the end

Thanks. Now since you cut off the roots, why not plant them somewhere?

I like your video and all but like Ezra was saying you should take the time to cut em so the bottom of the bulbs water roots can continue to grow more and you can continue to go to the same spot year after year I've been digging wild ramps since I was a little kid and I was always taught to cut the very bottom of the bulb just like u did when you were preparing them but leave them in the dirt so they can continue to grow but you guys just need to learn to harvest em better so maybe the next person can enjoy some of these delicious wild ramps also but it is a good video about wild ramps

I think you rather harvested them too early or too late, because the ramps I collect are up to half an inch bulbs on the bottom, none the less still a delicious plant.

These ramps were picked too early in the season as well, they are generally MUCH a larger and have fleshier bulbs. If the seed pods are visible, it is past peak season, and they are still edible but not as flavorful.
