Ngl I tried Rylais/Liandrys instead of cosmic drive/Oblivion Orb. Only as an experiment because that’s an extra 550 health which also converts to AP. Also the rylais works the same as Cosmic drive. Instead of speeding yourself up, you slow others down. Same thing.

I hope they won't nerf his late game, but I agree his early game is insane for a scaling mage xd. Atm I love buying 2 fiendish codex + ionan boots for 61 early haste which really helps for sustain, then finish rift + cosmic

@mordekaiserr. And yeah kass is traditionally a counter to Vlad but that's because he's good against ap champs, it's not because he outscales him. And while kass wins the 1v1 against Vlad, Vlad will always win the teamfight

But he doesn't, how does kass scale better, when Vlad can quite literally 1v5 teamfights late game with his aoe dmg, ability to reach any champ with flash, ghost and phase rush, untargetability and sustain, kassadin simply doesn't outscale that, at best he scales as well as that. But as I said, kassadin is better at splitpushing and 1v1s while Vlad dominates teamfights, if the game is less oriented towards teamfights late game then yeah kass outscales but most often than not, Vlad will be slightly better late

If you buy AP you get bonus HP but you buy HP you don't get any bonuses. It's pretty simple to understand why people build him in AP. Simply reading his skills and you'll also see he has more AP scaling🤣

You should try a tank build or hybrid build with him. He likes ap and hp items. Try running RS instead of comic drive. The slows will work well with phase rush to catch enemies

You already have 3rd ability which slows on about 2 seconds cooldown at 3 items if you go Haste build, Rylai's Scepter is kinda redundant.

@@DoubleD806 Following your reasoning Rod of Ages would be by far the best item for Vlad, yet no one builds it, Haste plays a big role in Vlad builds since it allows him to spam more health drain and have "invulnerability" blood pull up more often in teamfights. Consider items like Riftmaker and Awakened Soulstealer if you want AP and HP, you get lots of Haste on top of those. Personally I like Ionian boots and Cosmic Drive as well, but to each their own.
