WILD - Two delays - Soma Lyra 8 fx and Makenoise Mimeophon

I decided to make a new series of short videos named
WILD - eurorack modular, synthesis and musical creativity
This is not a products "demo", but a way to share what I like to experiment with in my musical approach.
Here, I show two exemples of patches using two delays, one really clean - MN Mimeophon- and one more dirty, agressive Soma Lyra 8 fx . That combo can produce a lot of lo-fi textures, that can be bandpass-filtered . If you like Bandpass filters, have a look at Hainbach YT channel too !
There will be some videos about gear use, but also about musical practice, composition analysis and a lot more.

That sounds absolutely fantastic. I love these noisy lo-fi delay Textures. I was torn between the Befaco Crush Delay and the Lyra. But I think I will go for the Lyra.

glad you like it ! Crush delay and Lyra Fx are both really good delays, I wish you will be happy with this one ! I use a Verbos Noise and Filter sometimes after that delay for more Band-pass options.

where are you summing output from mimeophon+lyra into a stereo signal? I think is a 2HP device but I don't know who is it.

The sound source here is two Mannequins Mangrove, Three sisters filter and Just Friends for modulations.

AAAAWESOME combination.. Such a big texture! I own Strymon Magneto. Do you recommend me to buy Lyra FX to it? or during last year you have another perspectiva about it? how do you deal with that mono delay to move in the stereo field? thanks

Thanks again, after one year, I think that Lyra 8 FX is always a good "lo-fi" delay. And, yes I'd like it could be stereo, so I have a few tricks for that. I can send it in Mimeophon, or use it with Shakmat Sumdif for midsize processing. Or take multiple one output of a stereo device and send the signal to Lyra 8 fx in the centre of the mix. It could be a great alternative delay with you Magneto.

This channel is an amazing find! I have a Mimeophon(love it) and have been researching the Lyra FX. Does the Lyra FX do cleaner delay sounds with the distortion turned down or does it always have a pretty strong grit to it? I dig the dirtyness of it but curious if it can also double as a clean delay.

Thanks a lot ! The Lyra FX can be a "clean delay " with short repeats. With longer repeats, the chips begin to make lo-definition repeats...and you can add distortion of course. But I think it's basically a "noisy" delay, and Mimeophon a more "clean" one.

Thanks ! For the beginning, have you tried a semi-modular like Moog mother-32 ? I think it's a good value that can be completed with a modular rack. Or you can begin directly with a rack. So you have to precise your budget and what type of sound you like . Have a look at Modulargrid too ! If I can help :)
