1999 was the first time I visited Universal Studios Hollywood -- and I remember enjoying this show! (I especially recall how the building's facade collapsed at the end!) Great memories! Great stuff!

LOL. Marsha! I remember this, when they had the Hopper's mingle into the crowd before the show.

My uncle used to do this show and did the man in blacks character. Loved watching him do the high fall. Truly amazing stunt show. He also went to USJ to do it.

Univeral Studios was a yearly ritual for me, my first visit was maybe 1987 when I was 8 years old and it ended in 1994 when we left Los Angeles. I still remember this show as well as Conan, Americal Tail, Animal Actors Stage, and of course Miami Vice. The park has drastically changed over the years, I think the only spot that still exists is the Waterworld location that originally was Miami Vice. Great memories for sure!

I saw this show in 2001 and loved it. Was way better than the waterworld one IMO. I actually got a photo with you after the show. Thanks for the memories.

If they change this show to another show, they should bring it back and not change forever. This show is awsome.I love it and i would want my country USS do it.

No, Waterworld is to the right as you enter the park. This is the center of the upper lot. It's been used for special events, and some mazes for halloween horror nights since then.

In the early days of the show, the lead actor would actually ride a horse out into the yard at the beginning of the show. They took that part out after a few years. Don't know why. I do remember watching one show where the horse decided to take a dump right after he rode out in front of the audience. Everyone was laughing and the lead actor just looked at the horse like "seriously?" then turned to the audience and said: "Sorry, folks. I can't take him anywhere." Edit: Just realized this was the version in California, not Florida. The horse incident was at USF. My bad.

Thanks for posting. I'm just sorry its not the one I grew up with. But just seeing the same set made me feel at home again. So what did you actually say when you did that baby talk that was supposed to be "I was wrong. that was dangerous to do"? I'll bet you still remember your lines, huh. It was all funny and cute. The show I grew to love was the one with quick sand and the stunt team were fighting with eachother. Were you in that? I only have a vague memory of what the cowboys looked like.

Just learned this show died in 2002. (Yes, I'm far behind the curve.) It was a fave for me and I'm sorry it's gone. Too many video-screen attractions now. Live action is best.

While I understand that Fear Factor Live became popular and that they had a chance to include it quick and easy by changing over the Wild, Wild West Stunt Show, I was still sorry to see it go. You could hear the show going on halfway across the park. Maybe they would bring it back if Westerns became popular again, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Edit: Just realized this show was the one in California, not Florida. My bad.

Originally called, "The Riot Act", the name was changed after the Los Angeles riots. Before it opened, they got many of their original cast from Knott's Berry Farm! (BTW... Why did you leave in all of the stupid "pre-show"stuff, & cut out the beginning of the show?)
