My daughter and I used to love ❤️ listening to Incubus together. Sadly she passed away in a car accident in 2002 at age 18. I still pay tribute and love to her by listening to all of the old and new Incubus music to this day. We met at In Bloom, I was sitting by a pond in Houston watching ducks, my hair was blue at the time and you came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder, you said, sorry I’m so awkward and I didn’t mean to scare you and you reached out your hand to shake my hand and help me stand up and you said “Hi my name is Brandon, and I said, “Hello Brandon my name is Suzie, it’s nice to meet you.” And then you and your band mates played one of the best shows ever in the whole world. I had no idea I was meeting you when we met because I never saw the faces of the people in Incubus, and I also didn’t know any of your names but I had been listening to your music for years and grew up from my youth into adult hood being so inspired musically by all of your skills, and when I realized who you were I felt a little silly for not already knowing but I’m thankful too because I am glad that we met as equals and not as me trying to meet you or trying to accomplish anything. It was like a natural occurrence. You were so respectful too and made me feel like you were just like me. That’s so rare to find in someone who is as talented as you are. I've been a huge Incubus/Brandon Boyd fan since Make Yourself came out! Fast forward to 2022...I was pregnant and played my little girl Aqueous Transmission often and then after I gave birth, we discovered that Brandon's version of Wild World is the ONLY thing that will consistently calm her down when she's cranky! Thank you for all the years of awesome music and for whatever magic you possess that soothes a crying, screaming baby! 😊

I grew up with this song. My mom used to play this song a lot. It reminds me of her. She passed away in January. She was also a big fan of Brandon as well as me. She would have loved his version. I first heard Yusuf/Cat Stevens perform this song when I heard "Tea for the Tillerman" in 1970. I was 10 years young, and my Mom was a hippy, so we always had great music playing, music that has stuck with me throughout an entire lifetime. You did such a wonderful job with your rendition of this beloved classic, putting an energy into it that I believe only you can.
