Thanks, glad you gained something by watching this scramble from a different perspective. Like you I watched many videos before attempting , I was presently surprised that it wasn't to difficult. The 1st pitch up the triangle shaped stone was the most difficult as it can be slippery and handholds are hugging the left side. The chimney near the water fall I thought would be the crux , but handholds are good so really not hard at all. I went after a week dry spell which probably helped.

Last year my son and I got to the first wall where the triangle is and we (I) bottled it and came down again. Desperately want to conquer it but I'm overthinking it even before I get up there again! 'Think what I fear most is doing the first and maybe second climbing section but bottling the next one and not being able to get up or down! Wish I could just say 'no way not for me' but something about it compels me to have another go. Any advice welcome! By the way, really excellent video, best one I've seen as you get a really good sense of scale with seeing the walls from a distance. Thank you for posting and well done you, you're very brave.

Gain some confidence climbing grade 1 scrambles in the area like crowden Clough, this will help you get a feel for the type of rock and the general conditions. Nether Red Brook Scramble has a grade 2 and grade 3 alternative end, climbing these will give you the confidence and this have the option to skip and take the grade 1 route, i would certainly attempt the grade 2 ending as a confidence builder. I climbed after a 2 week dry spell so the conditions were very good so would be a good idea to keep in mind what the weather has been like the days prior to scrambling, a drier route will of coarse always be better. Take someone with you who can help you if you get stuck or loss confidence. Once past the 1st pitch i think you should be able to do the rest, its just like a staircase or a ladder as the holds are pretty good, just take it slowly and you will do it. Ive seen vids of young girls climbing this and it was seeing this is what gave me the confidence to take it on. I want to climb tryfan in wales and this seemed scary after reading some horror story's, but ive watched a load of videos on tryfan and it is by watching these and seeing the young and the old succeed that gives me the confidence to take it on.
