Climbed snowdonia and camped there in my teens . I remember lots of pain , a friend crying and Saying “no More no I’m not walking “ 😂 . Walking until sunset and more walking crack of dawn . But the best place we camped somewhere in snowdonia at the top there was a huge lake it was just breathtaking . I soon forgot about all my aches and pains . When the staff were asleep I thought it would be wise to wake up 5am and wash my hair with cold water, it was winter . But to be fair my hair looked like it had a bottle of oil in it , after 3 days and I couldn’t tolerate it . I was also used to washing my hair with cold water . However my teacher noticed the damp Hair, and I got a good telling off😂 . I remember being upset because I never got in trouble . But apparently I could have caught pneumonia , hypothermia and they’d need mountain rescue for me. No hospital for miles and miles . About 3 years ago I went to Steele falls in Scotland , since I live here and that gave me the same emotions of Snowdonia . We are being lazy since we have good walks and mountains over here, and Wales seems so far . But I should go back with my children, to relive it before I’m too old and tired to hike . Thank you for the video , brought back lots of good memories

Me and my wife love your wild camping videos Joss. We are in our early 50's and got into camping last year. We spent a couple of nights wild camping inbetween Dolgellau and fairbourne and loved it. we also bought a Citroen Berlingo which we are converting into a camper for those quick get aways. We love Wales and feel it is our second home. If you can recommend any wild camping spots either to pitch up ten or park up in our camper car. that would be great. Our only grumble with your videos is that they aren't long enough lol. We really enjoy the fact that you show a lot of the scenery around you and you dont talk all the way through but just when it matters. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Bless you
@jossthomas1234563 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony, glad that you enjoy the films. I will be out again soon, fingers crossed! Im not familiar with camper parking spots too much but I know if you head to the quieter areas of snowdonia where there are less tourists, you will find nice ‘park ups’. Have a look at Tanygrisiau near Blaenau Ffestiniog. Drive as far up as the road goes and theres a big layby near a waterfall. A short walk leads to the impressive scenery and ruined quarry of Cwmorthin.

Another great vid fella, when are you next up on the Clwydians? Wouldn’t mind tagging along, if you wouldn’t mind a fellow Welshman coming with you!

Excellent footage Joss only a recent subscriber but really enjoying your films 👍🏻 the slate mine & lagoon looked amazing... I’ve only been down to Wales for Pen y Fan & a camp in the dry reservoir but hope to get back soon to tick Snowdon off🙏 I’m interest in your wrap around sun glasses, do you have a make/brand I can look up please? Cheers keep em coming😄👍🏻

Hi Sahib thanks for the kind comments. Glad you enjoyed. Remember to camp high as you can, away from paths and leave no trace- no campfires! Here is a playlist to give you some ideas! Let me know how you get on… enjoy! kzbin.info/aero/PLRjkWIimmeixQ7fSreL0c4aNg6A8LAtUQ

If this is the blue lake accessed by a tunnel then here's an update: Update May 2019: The property owner has obstructed access to the lake due to littering and general disregard for the environment. The entrance tunnel has been filled in.

Cracking walk and what a view, apart from the "flying friends" - I would have been going mental, hate the bloody things. Was the trig on Moel Tryfan? Great editing Joss and as always a pleasure to watch one of your episodes.

Thanks Alan glad you enjoyed it. Much appreciated. I deliberately left any place names out of the video, just so as to give the location a little anonymity, if that makes sense. Atb Joss

Love the video. Try leaving your rations in the packet and boiling them in water including the cinnamon bun 👌🏽
