One of my favourite heroic-mentor characters of comic books of all time! Ever since I grew up with both Batman the Brave and the Bold and Justice League he grew forever and beyond as one of my favourite street level superheroes through my knowledge of comic books! Wildcat is definitely one of my all-time favorites. He's super old school but without the bigotry or bias that tended to be one of the issues of that time period even more so than today. He's always good for one more round and still has it when it counts. His belief in the underdog (ironically enough) and commitment to doing the right thing is what makes him so endearing to me. He reminds me of a lot of my favorite coaches back from when I was a kid. If you are one of his students, he will challenge you and push you but he loves you. And when it comes time to scrap, he will Never. EVER. back down.
