Nice vid man! Have experienced and rear axle issues like I hear? I just purchased a brand new 2018 that’s was at a dealer for a price! Trying to learn what fixes need done before breaking her in and then giving her hell like you all!! Thanks!

Thanks brother! Matt hasn't had any axle issues, the motor blew and was replaced under warranty with no issues.. A knocking in the motor and the oil pressure light coming on is something to watch out for.. We have another vid on the steering bushing that is a definite must do also.. It sures up the steering mechanism which has failed on a few machines.. I hope you enjoy it man, Matt has been giving it hell for sure!

outdoorzone thanks for watching! I haven’t had any issues with the axles yet. Hoping I don’t! I’m looking into beefing up the steering rack now. There are a couple different options so I’m kinda weighing them out now. I haven’t had any issues with the steering but I know tie rods have been a weak point. Most people have issues with the steering rack itself after upgrading tie rods so I wanna do both if I do either lol

Dirt ObseXXion what actually caused the low oil pressure engine failure? Was it a clogged oil filter? I’ve seen on forums that the excessive assembly lube clogged the orig oil filters and then they started putting wix filters on from the assembly plant to fix it! Any truth to that and did you happen cut open your filter to see?
@mcballingaming12315 жыл бұрын
outdoorzone that’s the issue! I had changed my oil and got in one full ride b4 it happened. I didn’t know about the issue when I changed mine or I would’ve checked out the filter. I’ve seen a couple that people have cut open that look pretty insane! Even though I had changed the filter it still ended up clogging the system with gunk. They said they flushed the system real well while changing the motor but still recommended I change the oil in the new motor within 100 Miles just to be safe. Nothing like doing the 1st service twice 😂

Thanks brother!! He's abused the crap out of the XX and had really good luck with it... People criticize it for being underpowered but I can tell you that it can run faster through trails than most other machines because the weight makes it stick, and we've had it over 70mph over whoops...

Why not weld a plate on the bottom? 1/8th or 1/4" and keep the air gap. I would think that as the stock plate bends more, it would just put pressure on the rear diff and cause problems down the road. Just a thought...
@DirtObseXXion5 жыл бұрын
I don't think you could do that without covering the skid plate, and that skid has to come off in order to change the oil.. It may be possible though... I think Matt is going to be fine with the rubber cushion... The cushion is much easier for the average person to install too i.e. us.. Thanks for the comment!!!

Those TSC stall mats are great. I use them on the front of my open trailer to keep the mud out from dirt roads, closed off the open area behind the cab on a Ranger XP, and I got one as a door mat inside my barn.

We have an x3 in the group that may have 50 miles on it and it’s already had to have the clutch replaced so it’s all just luck of the draw. They all have issues. I don’t worry about what people should or shouldn’t have. I just ride! So far she’s been bulletproof tho!

How thick was the mat that you got? How did you attach the mat to the plate?
@DirtObseXXion5 жыл бұрын
Matt got the horse stall matt from TSC, it was about 1/2 inch thick.. Any thicker would make it hard to get the rear piece of the frame back on... This one fit really snug...
@DirtObseXXion5 жыл бұрын
Just saw the second part of the question.. As mentioned, 1/2 inch mat.. The pressure is sufficient enough to hold it in place without securing it to the frame plate. Matt cut it long enough so that if it slid any direction it would hit the lip of the plate.. I guarantee it won't move once you put it in place, but if you're worried about it, take the frame off first and measure that plate area before you make your cuts in the rubber.. It was so snug under the diff we had to use the jack to get the frame back in place... You could push it in place but it was awkward to try and hold it and wrench at the same time... Hope this helps, good luck!
@jworpet5 жыл бұрын
@@DirtObseXXion Thanks. I havent had the rear frame off mine but did cut a hole in the steel plate to do the diff service. I wasnt sure how much clearance there was between the plate and diff.
