You do know that when you are all done with saving him and he is no longer in pain that he has bonded with you

They are social animals so they have lots of bonds. They certainly know when they are being helped.

You mentioned revolution in the video. Is that something that can be given as a preventative for piggies like it's given to dogs and cats, or do you only give it when needed?

@@shaivireddy5506 if you're from Australia you can get one for mange mites for guinea pigs i got a shampoo for dogs that's meant for mites and it worked hopefully it works for you too!

Sorry my comment is on an old video but my boy has them and has been treated for a month and it seems theyre worse :( he now has fur loss and hes seizing again. I used pour on ivermectin. He also has a swollen toe, looks like a fungal issue. I wish I could get him to healing. Also treating my two rabbits as they live in the same room but separated. Why do you think he isnt improving?

Poor Little One. He is so handsome. I found revolution too expensive for my gang. I use a drop of injectible ivermectin on the back of their ear every two weeks.

Yes both have their place. In this case Revolution works faster and everything including the egg cycle is dead in 24 hours, ivemec it takes longer and the repeat 7 days later is for the egg cycle.

My guinea pig (that i love very much) has this, i had never heard of it before. I was hoping it wasn't sarcoptic mange, (i think that's what it's called) but it is.He dosent have it bad. But he definitely has it. I bathed him i dont know if i used shampoo that treats mange. I was going to bathe him again if i got new bedding but then i read it makes them burrow into their skin. Is that true? I am very worried for him. He is an Alpaca guinea pig. Anyway this video is very heartwarming. Thanks.

HI Kaye it needs to be diluted for ears. V shape is first sign of mites - just make sure you treat for mites first. Check the abdominal lump video below. I have had a couple rushed in this morning and one had an abdominal issue which I will share shortly.

The hard thing is that I don’t understand why people let them suffer and all most die before they do something about it. I is crudity to let little guinea pigs suffer like this

In this instance the owners had been doing what they knew to be right. The piggies were living indoors and were given revolution. However they could not get on top of things for this little one. There are lots of aspects to managing a case like this from pain management through to adequate and effective treatment.
