I wanna know how Bill Alexander and Bob Ross did it without paper towels haha. I’m watching one of Bills videos and he always says thin will stick to thick. He mentioned mixing a thin white with a regular titanium white. Is he talking about mixing magic white with regular??

Short answer is, They are masters at their craft ha ha ha... There are a few videos where they mention if you have trouble use a paper towel to wipe of the excess. And to answer your question, YES he is adding a more medium to his paint ( which will make it thinner and allow it to flow ) - This can be done with Magic White and other mediums too

How hard are you pressing here with the paper towel. Is there still a base layer of the magic white?

Not too hard - I would say average pressure. HOWEVER, these blue towels are absorbent and do suck up most of the medium. Which is why your clouds will stick and pop.

Could be a few things like your have too much paint that has dried up near the base. Try reshaping your brushes with a paper towel and press/mold them into a shape when they are drying by leaving the paper towel on it for the entire dry time. That should help.

Hobby Lobby use to sell their stuff but then they terminated their contract. The Company "Weber" which made a lot of the BR Products still sells a lot of their products at Hobby Lobby. So look for that brand name and you will find similar products

How do you know all this stuff? That's pretty cool. The only other need in my life (as far as painting..the others would need DMs or PMs or whatever the hell the cool kids are calling it now) is Dawn dish washing soap. When I'm done painting, I look like a possum wrested a blender and was suddenly tackled by a zombie, knocking over everything in my studio, and that brand of soap saves me. At least from the paint. If you have the other guests in your studio, you're on your own. But really, how DO you figure out your tricks?

Most of my video ideas come from what I learned while I was failing or struggling with painting. I figured, I should share what I learned that made painting easier for me.
