I guess most of us expect Wilder to give Parker the hard reboot. Still, if Joe can land anything like the stuff he was putting on Joyce then Wilder's going down. Is that enough to avoid the bomb? Probably not but this isn't a foregone conclusion by any means. Parker is well above Wilder's average opponent skill level.

Parker has the better chin, better fight experience, better skills, better movement...Wilder has the one punch power advantage, height, reach and awkwardness...but if Parker comes in good shape, is mobile, aggressive and alert, then he has the tools to stop Wilder. Wilder also 38 now, and that could also be a factor.

He will out-box and out-point wilder in most rounds I expect, he just needs to get the KO in the first half of the fight or mid rounds, or atleast keep the pressure on and don't let up, because even the 12th round can be a dangerous time fighting Wilder. If it starts going the distance, Parker has just got to make sure he doesn't take his eye off the ball and relax towards the end. I have all the confidence Parker can do it, but I can also see Wilder do what he normally does. I can see a possible upset in Parkers favour, as I can also see an upset in Walins favour, or atleast Walin getting a bad decision against AJ. Neither fight is 100% a foregone conclusion IMO.

Parker has never been knocked spark out, even in the Joyce fight where he was gassed from the beginning and endured a lot of shots before the big left hook (Joyce's best punch of his career), Parker still got up. Wilder on the other hand has been sparked out cold by Fury, and was also almost stopped by Fury in 3 rounds in two fights...and Fury is not as powerful as Parker. So do the math.

A younger Joe Parker would keep out of the way of the big shot like he avoided being knocked out by Joshua but I was at the Joyce fight and he looked tired by the 3rd round, his defense capability was terrible that night and he got badly punished for it against the slow punching Joyce with massive power. It seemed as though JP had over trained or expended too much energy in a warm up. He needs to be careful this time about that but he is good enough to win. Wilder will spark anyone except Fury with right hand on upper part of the head. Wilder is old now and needs to win it earlier now. Parker definitely gets sloppy at times - he ain't gonna win by boxing Wilder for 12 rounds, eventually he'll get clipped. However, Parker does have what it takes to hurt Wilder early - physical strength and speed. Only way for Parker to win. Hope he can pull this off, it'll be absolutely stunning.

​@@LadyChann Well in some fights Wilder has relied only on landing one punch but in some other fights he has showed a good jab for instance and some form of movement and wider punch options. Also Wilder improved a bit in his third fight with Fury. I think it is more likely that Wilder can't take Parker's lesser power than Parker is just sparked out by Wilder landing one shot. Parker is one of the more durable heavyweights. When he was put down by Chisora it was an overhand shot when Parker was stuck in corner and his back foot slipped while Chisora followed through by putting his weigh on Parker's shoulder, so although a legit shot it was half push and slip. Parker was headbutted and concussed against Dilian Whyte...and then Whyte caught him with his left hook while in that state later, and Parker got up...and Whyte's left hook can drop anybody. The Joe Joyce fight was accumulation plus gassing and a big shot...but Parker still got up, despite being gassed and hit heavy for 11 rounds. It all shows Parker can't be easily KO'd. ANything can happen but Parker has many things in his favour, Parker could also avoid severe damage for 12 rounds and win on points. I think most likely though is a KO win for Parker.

Joe is an average fighter at best so this will be the greatest opponent on his resume by far. And the biggest step up he’s ever had in his career. Joe’s resume is lacking outside of AJ. He’s got 3 advantages here: youth, activity, and being the better inside fighter. If he’s smart his strategy will be built around an intense pace + inside fighting. Joe is horrendously poor from the outside. Barely can land a jab, which is saying something. His ring iq is also significantly lower than Wilder’s. It’s like her refuses to make adjustments even though he knows he’ll be punched if doesn’t. Joe fights from a low guard. Hands down by his waist. It should be common sense why that’s dangerous but don’t take my word for it, go watch highlights of Joe being punched around by low level opposition. To make matters Joe throws the SINGLE JAB from mid range. That means he’s within punching range, with his hands by his waist… and has to lift his lead hand up for the jab, and only throws it once, before placing his arm back by his waist. So much time to be countered by the divisions most deadly counterpuncher. Wilder. Wilder on the other hand sucks on the inside. Go watch any of his fights and once the opponent gets inside Wilder doesn’t look for control, or feet positioning. He just starts throwing arm punches. However from the outside range Wilder is a freaking menace. There’s a reason why FURY who’s overall a significantly better boxer than Wilder, WITH A LONGER REACH THAN WILDER, consistently says it’s a mistake to try and box him from the outside. THAT distance is where Wilder excels ABOVE his peers. The idea that Wilder has zero skill is retarded and none of his opponents have said it themselves. They say he’s horrible OVERALL, but when it comes to craftiness + OUTSIDE range Wilder is simply a menace. Guess what though? He’s not too bad at mid range either. It’s where his left hook counterpunch AND his straight cross COUNTERPUNCH both shine. Yes he can be hit, but he’s absurdly athletic and quick, and the SINGLE JAB is the punch he’s countered and dropped opponents with frequently. Joseph will be Wilder’s fourth toughest opponent after Fury, Ortiz, Stiverne. Wilder will be Parker’s toughest opponent unless you’re a diehard AJ fan. Nobody expected AJ to knock Joe out. We all expect Wilder to knock Joe out. For a reason.
