Great video and thank you for keeping the locations somewhat secret. Grew up fishing these waters. Used to be alot more bookies but the browns eventually take over the small creeks. Tight lines fellas..

Great video guys! I live in Missoula but fish over on the front often because the vastness of the landscape just swallows you up and the lack of people. Sounds crazy but I recognize some of the land marks and know a couple of the places you fished. Your video is making me have tactile memories of summer which is a blessing since it's been dumping snow for the last 48 hours straight right now, in January. I subscribed to both of your channels and will be throughly enjoying your videos all winter! Keep up the good work!

Love hoppers for Trout. However, snapping the rod back like that at the strike will either pull the fly from the mouth, or snap it off at the tippet. Especially with bigger Trout. If your hooks are sharp lifting the rod at the take is all you need.

Great vid! Two ideas for better survival of catch and release trout: 1. Use an underwater camera to take your pics with the fish in the water and 2. Use a no-touch catch and release tool, so you never have to handle the fish. TU recommends both of these (never touching the fish and never taking them out of the water) for the best success at survival. I use the "Ketchum Release" tool myself, slides right down the line and unpins the fly effortlessly. Tight lines!!!

I enjoyed your video of the hopper fishing here in Montana. But man... you don't have to try setting the hook like you're The Hulk fishing for Blue Whales. You jerk your fly out of the fish's mouth sometimes, and if you're fishing light tippets with Trico's or small ant patterns (another Montana small stream killer) you'll start snapping tippets off. But a great video and I'm glad you enjoyed the fishing here (please don't popularize it too much...).

Scottie another great video those takes on the hoppers were killer. I have been working the chubby hard this summer here in PA after the cicada's have moved back to the ground and have been crushing wild brookies. Your work in impeccable. Thanks.
