The mood and the campaign. I was an official DM for the forgotten realms and honestly wouldn't have been disappointed if they would call it divinity 3 instead.

Playing DAI again and I don’t even care about the gameplay nit picks. I play this game strictly for the story and I have a feeling it’s very in depth. I wouldn’t judge the game off a cinematic demo when all abilities haven’t even unlocked or difficulty isn’t maxed. just gonna have to play it myself.

It’s a demo…. It’s common knowledge in demos (or at least to anyone familiar with presentations) that they turn the game on very easy mode. This is to ensure the character doesn’t die and keep the video moving.

How is this not BioWare? I’m the hugest old school BioWare fan, Mass Effect nerd to the fullest. BioWare was never known for their looks or graphics. We always loved BioWare because of the engaging stories and character development. I’m not guaranteeing a hit but I’m surprised at the amount of negativity here on a video with great gameplay. Yes the graphics look capcom-ish but if the story and characters are on point, who cares if the graphics style changed a bit? So long as they don’t look like andromeda.

Boss fight looks epic. Considering this is the first 20 minutes of the game it's fairly good. Don't think you actually have any active companions to use, I doubt they removed that feature from the series after all these years. It would mean dying it instant restart vs having a companion revive you. This is just the tutorial in sense. We will get the full world after where we can recruit people to our party. People are judging the game way too harshly on looks alone. Meanwhile lore and story wise this game is sticking with it's roots, its even including book lore. They really did a good job on that aspect. Visually I think the game looks great. People are just comparing and bitching.

It itsnt as bad as it could have been, that's for sure. the person playing is terrible though, spamming normal attacks without using the one skill available much, which actually seems to recharge pretty quickly (surprisingly). Looking forward to trying it out.

To all the people saying they want DAO and not this... Do you even play the series? There is very little difference in the way DAO plays and the way DAI and this game play. As a long time fan of the series who has beaten all the existing games many times, I'd have to say almost all the complaints I see are bogus. Especially after seeing how good the rogue plays compared to the issues in DAI with targeting and attacks landing for rogue dual wield. Oh wait, take me back to DAO where the enemies and characters basically stood still during combat and the gear ladder was more restrictive for BIS. Where the abilities were very basic and it was more about balancing which character would speak, which would lockpick, which would create potions or bombs. If the game turned out to be DAO mechanic in 2024 I'd be sadly disappointed. Especially since DAI had the best crafting by far.
