So nice to see familiar places and faces! I spent a week there in April living like a Kalash woman for a week! Dressing like them , washing my hair in the river , just living with a family and living the culture! One of the best weeks I’ve had !

I spent a week living with a Kalash family , only a week , but spent 3 months in Pakistan... they are free to marry whoever they want, they choose who to marry and I know a few met their husbands at the annual festivals and it’s common for them to elope ! It’s not discouraged either , they are free to divorce and it’s easier for a woman to divorce her husband than vice versa! They all have huge families and everyone is a cousin to someone or an aunt in the village ! The women are highly respected by the men , and have freedom, although certain rituals like then “menses” house and washing hair in the river still go on today , but they are all happy ! Even when they have to go to then “menses” house once a month they look forward to it ... I asked them about all these things ... I wasn’t there to formally interview them or anything, I just happened to go there as it looked interesting, didn’t plan on living and dressing like them for a week ! All the conversations I had with them were very candid and raw , just woman to woman . The men are proud to say they come from Alexander the Great ( although I hear that’s disputed) they speak Urdu and their own language.., not sure about their alphabet... but a lot go to college to get educated if someone in the family can afford it... I ask them all this in my vlogs ... I hope to go back this year , as there’s so so many things I want to ask again , everyone took me in as one of them and will never forget my time there ... It’s in my videos , they wash their clothes in the river , young girls must keep their hair cut short all over apart from a little braid on each side until she’s 8 ( or 10🤔) I would love there if I could ! They all have TVs and watch Bollywood movies, I ended up buying the family a new tv lol... truly the happiest people that live in harmony with each other ❤️

I knew all along about their ancestry ,ie originality, but now you confirmed it ,that is their '' men are proud to say they come from Alexander the Great, '' As far I know when Alexander left his army garrison in India on his departure, those army men were defeated by Hindus and they( Greeks)inter married with the Hindus of that time, that's why they (Kalasha)are fair colour, blue eyed. ie like Europeans. You will find some Afghanis( pre Islamic ) who are also of fair colour who inter married between Alexanders/Greeks and Buddhist and Hindus, Do you know that the whole of Afghanistan was predominately Buddhist and Hindus before Alexander and Islam/Muslims invaded Afghanistan.?? Hope you enjoy you next trip. I read some where that they are under pressure by Pakistani militant Muslims to convert them to Islam. I sincerely hope they don't and fight back for their beautiful race. Regards

@@ssimba2785 You are wrong about their ancestors. There were Persian and Buddhist women who were forcefully married to Alexander's army, about 60,000 of them. But there were never any Hindus. Their language and culture is a hybrid mix of ancient Persian/Buddhist and Alexander's culture. They've nothing in their lives to suggest any Hindu background.

There are small things in your videos that have triggered my memories. I can almost touch, smell, & taste the atmosphere around you. The hot days, the cool sunsets with mist in the air, the adhans, the noise of crows & birds at the end of the day, the sound of crowds in bazaars, the smell of food at street vendors, the smell of farm animals passing by, the musical loud bus horns, and so much more. I never thought I'll ever miss any of that...ever! But boy was I wrong. Thank you for bringing it all back, and letting me re-live those moments!

In this 30 minutes video , you showed us beautiful people,scenery, mountains, roads,rivers, hotels along with interesting information in the form of commentary.
