Teals, coots, wigeons, gadwalls... if it weren't for the cinnamon teals, I could swear you must've had captured this footage here in Europe. Awesome footage as usual, keep it up Jimmy!

My favorite duck. They sound like little jet fighters when they fly by. I grew up along the shores of GSL. Spent many many hours with these beauties. Green-winged teal, Cinnamon teal, American Widgeon, Gadwall, and a few coots. ;-)

They're all so pretty! They really do sound so cool when they fly by, my favorite is the sound the Goldeneyes make 😁 I'm glad you included Coots in your comment, poor guys are always getting left out 😆

Like you say Jimmy have done the stalking and the blind/ hide approach and the latter wins everytime for me with bird photography. Great stills. 👍

This was an awesome video on the teal Jimmy. I absolutely love photographing waterfowl, and you made some wonderful images. Yes, you got the widgeon correct. They are also a beautiful bird. Waterfowl just starting to move into my area. Looking forward to meeting up with them. Thanks for making these videos.👍👍

Jimmy, you really get some amazing footage. While watching, if I looked away, I'd get some moments thinking those audio segments could also make some premium relaxation sounds in case you wanted to produce another great product. :) Thanks for all the hard work puting these videos together albeit fun work too. Your an inspiration!

Thanks so much, that's encouraging to hear! I've actually thought about making a more relaxing type video with just landscapes, animals, no words and the sounds of nature (the good kind 😆). Thanks for all the support, always appreciate you!

Hi. I could not find a good camouflage ghillie blanket. I will probably have to make one. What materials are optimal? If you’ve made a video on that could you direct me to it. Thanks

Hello! That's a great question, I made mine out of an old fishing net and some burlap, and it works wonderfully. I'll link a video you can look at if you're interested. Let me know if you have any questions! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m56whoGqf9qYkKs

Nice video. Couldn’t help but wonder if you are using mirrorless with EVF for still images or live view with mirror lock up on DSLR as you are so close? I imagine that the shutter noise could distract or frighten the ducks?
@JimmyBreitenstein3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Great question, I switch between the electronic shutter on the R5 and the "silent" shutter on the 1DX. I've found that some animals will book it as soon as they hear the shutter, and others couldn't care less. So it really depends on what I'm photographing.

How do you find your constructed blind in the early morning darkness. The cover all looks the same. Do you flag it somehow?
@JimmyBreitenstein3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they can be tricky to find for sure. I count my steps from a specific starting point. If there's a unique stick or something in the area, I'll put it nearby.
@tracenfitzpatrick3 жыл бұрын
Super cool! I'm impressed with your smooth tracking. Do you have a nice swivel head top on your tripod?
