Rescuing baby ducks from a 7th story balcony

As regular watchers of this channel will know, ducks can often nest in some very strange areas. We were recently called out to a duck family who had decided to make their home on top of a 7th story balcony in London!
With the ducklings having no chance of survival from a fall that high, Simon and Lawrie, one of our cameramen, rushed out to help. The balcony was very large and, despite efforts, the family kept refusing to go into a net. It took a lot of effort and a lot of patience to catch the whole family but, after a few days rest, they were happy to return to the wild in a much more suitable location!
PLEASE DONATE - Just £3 from every viewer can help us save many more animals! Online: bit.ly/wafdonate Text Donation: Text WILD3 to 70300 to give £3.00, (WILD5 to give £5.00 and WILD10 to give £10.00) UK residents only.

You're not interfering. You're helping. Everyone and everything needs help from time to time. The people that claim you're interfering simply say that so they can feel better about themselves for doing nothing. Don't even address them. Nature didn't put that building there. People did. And it's not a safe place for a nest. If the complainers had an ounce of intellect they'd be able to come to that conclusion. I guarantee these same people go to doctors or hospitals when they're sick or injured, looking for help. Why? It's nature. We shouldn't interfere to assist them either according their moral compass. Who do the animals have to turn to for help? Thankfully Simon.

Yeah people don’t actually understand what they’re talking about. There was a famous case were there were rats that were killing all the local birds, some scientists said that they should kill all the local rats to keep the birds alive and everybody disagreed and said that was interfering with nature. But there are more factors, humans had actually brought the rats to that place and that type of rat existed everywhere. But the type of bird existed only in that place

Simon, follow your instincts. Do what you do, which is to tip the scales in the smallest of ways in favor of creatures that are living in our incredibly hostile world. Never apologize for caring and doing your best. That is what your human heart is constructed for, deeply caring. Love you all at Wildlife Aid!!!!

first of all, I love your work, I appreciate Simon and the whole team of vets and volunteers and everybody involved so much and I support Wildlife Aid in every way. But I have a question… how often do you have rescues? Because it seems like you have them literally every day but I can't imagine (and I surely hope not) that there has to be saved an animal every day. So I am wondering, how many calls do you get a day/ week/ month? cheers and keep it up!
