Fantastic painting! I had to chuckle while the footage of your videos was running, because you obviously love getting your reference pictures. I do too. I often have to remind myself to breathe when I'm out catching pictures of wildlife or a gorgeous scene unfolding. Your paintings are just getting better and better. I'm enjoying the T-shirt I bought, btw :)

I was wholly comitted to art as a boy and student, had exhibitions and had 4 examination pieces from sculpture to 4ftx4ft canvas in the national exhibition of Advanced level examines when most entire schools may have one or two pieces. I do not say this to brag but to show how anyone can loose their way. I am now 48 and while looking with her to find somthing to enjoy doing with my daughter I found you. You rekindled my passion for art and help me bond with my little girl, I am forever in you debt. Be prolific and passionate and never lose your way, you are a great artist. THANK YOU!

You should do a float plane buzzing over some trees with a nice water scene with either some guys fishing or little creak running into the lake with rapids and a bear fishing or even some otters swimming together! Good Ontario scene!

Thanks , following you for several years, finally figured this out, acrylic base, then covered in oil. I have a similar pic of Bighorn, same stance,on a rock cropping in the bottom of the Grand Canyon, actually in a side canyon 600 ft above the river. It’s the upper little gap over the photographic swirling sandstone canyon. My 12 yr old daughter and guide and I , scaled up the wall to get to the upper “Nirvana” spot. We fell asleep on a rock. It was noonish, peaceful, and Nirvana like. The Bighorn woke us up as he noisily stepped over us and scampered up 20’ of rock, then just posed on an outcropping, which was the top of the canyon floor. We will never forget that special moment in life we shared on that rafting trip down the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. I have done the trip three times now and everyone agrees it’s the greatest trip in the world, right in our backyard. Forest service only allows 200 non scientists in the entire 221 mile ecosystem per day. So it takes 1-2 years to find an opening. Diamond river adventures is the safest guides. Love your sun dog comments and freezing, as it was very cold at night in Yellowstone camping. Sincerely, John Dockery. Dagger stripper is the best!.

Bighorn sheep is a beauty, love the work you put into it, really paid off for so many of us to enjoy. I remember not exactly location, think the Smokies, there was a famous ELK, so many photographers came to know, a great beauty/ Handsome I should say. Seen him myself only once. I did not have a camera equipment, mine was stolen. BUT when that light would shine on him, like your Bighorn, it was so beautiful... and later someone shot him , just like the Famous Grey WOLF I did mange to get a great sketch of him. Right place, right time, he was with a few others , no interest of moving,

What I respect the most about Chuck Black is that he can paint of such a distance. When I'm painting details, my eyes HAVE to be 2 inches from the canvas. Not because I can't see, but just because I feel like I have more control then. Chuck doesn't need that. He truly is amazing
