- important advice, as soon as you find an acorn PLANT IT at your oasis for unlimited acorns (plant it near water in converted soil), it will also expand the soil (not sure if you can soft lock yourself if you don't plant an acorn soon) - when you look at the ground around water you can see somewhat darker soil (when planting it also says wet), this is wet ground and plants planted in it doesn't need to be watered, it's always next to water so if you dig a river it will follow it - vines from the memory seed skill allow you to climb faster, visibly faster, you throw them on a wall (can throw them again while climbing the wall) - also the quest to grow Amarath flowers was given to you by the ghost, if I remember right it will give you a memory after completion (check your journal for details) - you may want to listen to the guardian spirit and and the gods you rescue (read all conversations) since it will unlock new abilities or quest that will teach you how to do things or eventually unlock new abilities - while you can visit any place some places are more dangerous that others and you will need to complete some quests to make them survivable (you can still visit them right away and most likely die if you want to though)

I've got 30 or so hours in this and it really scratches the itch of "rebuild after the end boss". I find myself finishing other games and wishing I could help rebuild the world (botw i'm looking at you) and this plays less like going to kill the main evil guy, and more like mopping up after the end boss and restoring the damage. Incredibly satisfying.

Kinda interesting coincidence: *just yesterday* I was going down a rabbit trail looking at the past of Guns of Icarus, which took me to the devs' blogs, social media updates, and steam page just to see how they were doing. They happened to be streaming Wildmender at the time (same devs), which is where I first ever heard of the title. Now today, Splat happens to post a review of it 0.0

That looks much more like playing a farmer than a druid - maybe an herbalist with a bit of magic. But I suppose that doesn't sound as adventurous ^^
@DerFreiegedanke11 ай бұрын
The terraforming part sounds really nice. There was some Terraforming craze in the early 2000 with some Shooters that incorporated it like FRACTURE and even Strategy games like Perimeter and Maelstrom. I wish we could get that craze back as it was really nice emergent gameplay.

Yup, the wind effects, the climbing, stamina bar to name a fraction. It is breath of the wild with enough changes to keep it legal. But it does look good though.
@Vulture2k11 ай бұрын
Did you guys miss the whole oasis building and terraforming stuff? I am quite sure that's not in breath of the wild and it's a essential part of this.

@@Vulture2k Yeah So it's Breath of the Wild _Plus_
@noahbuddie11 ай бұрын
Yeah, not hating, but it's plainly obvious Breath of the Wild was a deep, deep inspiration for this game. Just in the first few seconds when Splat was saying he didn't think there was anything else like this, he's floating down, a laser's firing, and all I can think is, "No, this's obviously made to resemble Breath of the Wild." And who cares? So long as the boss isn't named Gastondwarf and the entire objective's to rescue a pointy eared princess... It can still be the new Zelda style and be its own game. How sub genres are created after all.

it a great game but it does have it flaws, the mission objectives can be very vague at time and have no direction, some of the area affects can really kill you quickly if you dont have the right gear unlocked

The more I see "post apocalyptic" games the less I care to find out more. I play games to cheer up, not to trudge along in a digital wasteland made purely for the sake of pushing some ideology I don't care about, until I'm more depressed than what I was before I started playing.
