This was fascinating. I only had a passing knowledge of Indian myth and folklore. I really need to take a deeper dive. The last two, the Bhuta and Kabandha seemed really familiar. By the end I realized both share features with the Mapinguari of South America, which many want to believe is either actually a giant ground sloth or a relative of Bigfoot. I really do love how unique India's pantheon and bestiary are.

Far as I'm aware, Shiva didn't "accidentally behead" Ganesh, so much as "beheaded him under the assumption that he was a random dude, keeping from walking in on his wife in the bath, vs. a dude who was specifically created by his wife to keem him from walking in on her during a bath." Maybe there are variations of the legend I am unaware of.

Lord Shiva killed lord Ganesh bcoz he refused to let in lord Shiva while Goddess Parvati was bathing. In anger Lord Shiva beheaded Ganesh. Witnessing such ghastly act deeply angered Goddess Parvati. Therefore to placate her, Lord Shiva promised to rejuvenate Ganesh. One of Lord Shiva's devotees, an Asur with an Elephant head offered his own head to lord Shiva.

I'm surprised that you didn't include RAKSHASAS. They are included throughout the Ramayana and the Mahabharata... They are deformed (by human standards) and are giant shapeshifting, human-eating creatures that dwell in the forest preying on meditating yogis. Rama's alliance with the Vanara king Sugriva helped vanquish the Rakshasa king Ravana, who had 10 heads and multiple arms, and kidnapped Rama's lovely wife Sita.

13:50 pls I must remind you in hindu mythology there is nothing like flings or s*x btwn Gods or those btwn those who stays in heaven.. B'coz in hindu mythology Immortals are called "Ayonijas" that's gods born without the need of a womb or placenta while we mortals are called "yonijas" we require a womb a placenta.. We cannot be born out just by the desires of the creator ie. Parents.. While gods like sun god Surya, water god Varuna and Indra etc are created by the wishes and desires of their creators .. Hence it is common to give heirs or children as blessings as a part of Gods for the worshippers deep penace and devotion.. No s*xual activity is involved like that of the greek mythology..

Your description of some the Sanathan Dharmas Mythical Creatures were great, but some require more research. I have provided some details, but I hope when you do your next video on Indian creatures you will do more thorough research into the various Ithasas, Puranas and Vedas before attempting to describing the creatures and their history. In Sanskrit Asura means daemon so they are not a demon-like race but the demon race. Naga and Garuda are cousins. The Nagas treated Garuda mother badly thus Garuda avenged her. Both the father of the 1000 brood of snakes and Garuda is rishi Kashyapa. Garuda’s brother who hatched prematurely became the charioteer for Suria dev (Sun god) Sesh Nag is the bed for Vishnu, and I don't believe is part of the brood of 1000 snakes. He exists with Vishnu before the universe was even created. Durga was born by the will of the three divine goddesses, Parvathi, Lakshmi and Sarasvathi. Once born all the other gods, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Ganesh, Karthik, Yama and the demi gods like Indra, Agni, Viau, Varan, Pavan etc… gave her their own strength. Thus Durga has the abilities of all the gods and goddesses. The Apsaras are divine beings who act as the handmaidens of Indra or as dancers at his celestial court serving as musicians alongside the Gandharva. There are only three Apsaras not multiple. Gandharva are a race of divine beings, males and females, who are involved in the arts like dancing, singing, acting, theatre, painting etc… Vadavagni One of the five natural forms of Agni (Vedic god of Divine illumination). This form, known as Vāḍava-agni, represents Agni’s most fearful form remains hidden under the sea, ever ready to destroy the world. Can also be referred to the dooms day fire. Chedipes are associated with the Betals (ghost, undead, etc…) one you called “VETALA”. Mate get your ancient history correct please, it has the capacity to offend a lot of people. Gajasura is a generic name given to an asura (demon), who assumes the form of an elephant. Ganesh head is not a demon elephant head. It is the head of the first animal that the gods found facing north. In Sanskrit Butha means ghost

Actually this video is missing one crucial mythological being - the Rakshaha (or giants). Similar to the "Oni" of Japan, these rakshaha had been a constant opponent for humans in early days until they were defeated numerous times.
