I just turned 50 November 18th ( hubby turned 50 last year)what a milestone! Our 28th anniversary is on December 5th! We have 4 beautiful children and 3 gorgeous grandchildren. I’ve been begging my husband to buy me a truck with a camper top. This way we can use it for moving items etc and daily driving but put the top on and see this beautiful country whenever able. He just got a new motorcycle since all of our kids are grown and his plan is to do a touring trip camping so that also will be incredible! (I’m preferring a cozy camper truck though haha). We plan to make this next decade of our lives “Ours” and really live a little, finally! Sorry for the long post haha! Been following you guys for years! Belated happy birthday, Dana! Here's a tip for setting up and using a mast buoy.... Put the mast through the mooring line loop. Then, when it's time to pick up the mooring line: Just grab the buoy mast, pull it up, take the loop off it and drop the buoy back in the water. No need to fish the mooring line up with the boat hook.

Happy birthday Dana!!! My husband celebrated 30 this year and I'll celebrate 30 next November. It's funny because this year brought in a milestone that I've been striving to reach since childhood, getting a doctorate degree.Despite years of anticipation, the fear and uncertainty of the pandemic overshadowed the joy and pride I was feeling. My husband came to me in June with his idea of selling our home (that we planned to live in forever) to buy a sailboat and sail the world with our two children. This gave me a new sense of hope. Where one dream had ended, we have begun to dream a new dream. We have enjoyed watching your videos and seeing you both grow together throughout the years. Bryan and I will be celebrating 9 years together next June, so we relate to the feeling of celebrating nearly a decade of love and memories. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Happy Birthday!!!! Here is a tip. Tie your dingy up to the side of your boat just before you come in to your mooring ball. That will allow you to reverse without going over the lead to your dingy and getting it caught up in the prop

So happy 30th birthday. - here is a fun exercise, one of you should randomly throw a fender with a bucket tided to it , shout man over board and then go down below - the other should then retrieve the bucket. Such a lot of fun and better to practice this before you need to. top tip- sail up wind heave to and drift onto rhe bucket

Great video as usual. You guys are amazing. Good too that you don't argue over things like missing a mooring: always remember you are both fighting together to defeat a problem, not fighting each other to win. When you run your jacklines please make sure they (in fact on a yacht like yours I would say 'a' jackline" ) runs along the centreline of the boat so that at no point if you fall do you go over the safety wires or side. Hanging over the side on a single hand or double hander is not much better than being in the water and falling so far over that your harness/jackline combination has you dragging along in the water is a horrible way to drown.

Hey guys, Hope you have enjoined your birthday Dana. Congrats.. I have watched your video mooring the boat. I owned an HR35 over 20 years... and when its windy its difficult to keep the bow steady in the direction of the wind.. Next time you may try it with the stern..engine in reverse..so actually pulling the boat against the wind... far more better control and you can keep the boat right on the spot... and also better communications with the one who is picking the line up... at the stern.. of course with a line from the bow... Good luck and have fun... the HR35 is up to any wheather and conditions you may encounter... a very friendly seagoing vessel... good choice... greetings André...

Happy birthday!! One small note. When anchoring or coming into your mooring shorten your painter if you have to reverse you may foul your prop. We did it once and it cost us a tow and 300 bucks to refirb the prop from the ding and another 450 to replace the cutlass bearing and shaft. It almost stripped our gears we were lucky. So when under way the line is long when docking, anchoring or mooring it’s short. When you may have to hit reverse shorten that line!!! Fair winds...

Happy B day! Ooh- remember to take in (shorten) dinghy line when maneuvering in anchorage. Easy to get it caught in prop/rudder- I’ve done that and seen that happen to many people. Maybe you have a floating dinghy line? If so, nice job.

IMPORTANT! 1st: Happy birthday! 2nd: while manouvering at the mouring or at the kay always keep the dinghy close to your stern. otherwise if the (not swimming) line to the dinghy is too long it will happen that you wind this line into your propeller while driving backwards! the engine will die ant you start to drift uncontrollable. outside: dinghy on the long leash, while manouvering: keep it short!
