Byron and his brother, Darren go on a self-drive safari through Kruger National Park. Berg-en-Dal, Tamboti Tented Camp and Letaba Rest Camp are the bases for this mini South to North journey. This is simply where we went and what we saw. Nothing less and nothing more. I hope you enjoy!

So lekker to see you travel with your boet, Byron, who I know has supported you so much on this wonderful KZbin adventure. Stunning video as always with some really exceptional sightings and filming, like those mongooslings, which were my favourite by the way 😉 Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see you and Caleigh next week, and to head back into the wilderness together… Here’s hoping Chobe’s rosetted cats show themselves in the most epic of ways! 🤞🏼

@@WildWildJourneyswell deserved. Does your patreon have any behind the scenes type content? I’m heading to Kruger lat Oct (first time back the South Africa in 10 years) and I’m interested in how you stabilise your camera etc.
@WildWildJourneys
@WildWildJourneys 29 күн бұрын
@@mr_k4tz nothing too in depth to be honest, more just small updates from behind the scenes here and there. I actually shoot 99% of the time handheld as I just prefer the freedom of it. To be fair, the stabilizer in Final Cut when editing helps a ton with camera shake

amazing vid man, every time i see a new upload its like waking up on Christmas morning. It is interesting how the bush has its ways of treating you, we recently did a 6 day north to south trip and saw pretty much one leopard a day (half of which were clear views), yet we only saw half of a lion on our second last day. my goal going in was to see a leopard (maybe get a photo of one) and get a pretty nice photo of a lion, turns out, it was the other way around and thats what makes it special.

Now you have a massive problem Byron. How do you better perfection 🤷🏼‍♂️. Every shot perfection every edit perfection. What was particularly nice for us is that we have been going to Berg en Dal since it was built in 1984 (I think ) when it had no trees so it’s a very special place. Loved every single second of the video. 👌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 very special place.

Stumbled onto your channel today. What a treat. Your photography is the best we have seen. We also like that you don't clutter your video with too much talking and you let the animals and birds speak for themselves. Quiet background music allows us to listen to the bush (which we miss! We even search for wildlife when we drive in the countryside here in Europe!!)

Is Kruger the best place in South Africa to see Wild Dogs in your opinion? We went to Pilanesberg in May and we saw the big 5 plus Cheetah (along with many other animals) but we never saw Wild Dogs which is something I would love to see in the wild one day!

Kruger is good but you maybe have an equal chance in some national parks in KZN. Still all comes down to luck and timing. Orpen area in Kruger has been good with wild dogs for me personally

Beautiful video again, you have seen a lot. We went in December, then we did not see that much, but then it was also very hot, we had 5 days above 40 degrees and then you unfortunately do not see much wildlife. But despite that we were still able to make some beautiful videos.

Hi Byron, my wife & I discovered your Chanel late in our planning for our African trip, but are catching up on your other videos. I purchased a 2nd hand Nikon for our trip, and as a complete novice, felt some of my photos turned out well. My videos however were very poor. I blame the user, not the equipment, but could I ask you for your video equipment details, and maybe some settings for the sunrise elephants. You, and others, are inspiring us for a second, once in a lifetime trip (back) to Africa. All the best from us in Oz.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to watch. I hope you do return - it’s quite addictive out there! I use a Canon R6 with either a 70-200 or 100-500 lens depending on what I want at the time. I shoot in manual for video and really just try get the exposure right for the particular scene while keeping the ‘shutter speed’ high enough to keep things smooth. For sunrise/sunset I find it’s always nice to under expose a bit by bringing the ISO down to get some rich colours coming out and maybe even some silhouettes… hope this helps a bit
