I installed mini split systems in my house. My house stays significantly cooler and my electric bill has dropped by half. These systems are absolutely not a compromise. They are much better and more efficient than traditional central HVAC systems.

So what's the next incubator project you're taking up ? Are the boys going to get trained up as tradesmen like Dad and Mom ? Seems like you could use a young concrete guy in family to give Mom the entreprenuer a break, and a plumber would help round out the family's construction future... of course Ellie is going to be a Vet I presume ! So with your Mr Cool unit, you didn't have to pull a vacuum on the lines you had installed? I understand you said pre-charged, did the lines between the condenser and evaporator already sealed with a check valve and externally opened once installed?
