Hey Joey. The Memorial in North Wildwood is awesome. A note on the explanation Plack. Third paragraph from the bottom second sentence is very awkward. It should read "May this forever stand to honor those who gave so much for our freedom" OR "who have given so much for our freedom".

Thanks for the update Joey. The Memorial Park looks wonderful. Can't wait to see it next year. More & more condotels & more & more beach cottages being demolished for McMansions. It's getting like Avalon. It's great for all the new places on Pacific Ave., but you have the projects a block away. I'm not sure how safe it will be at nighr

Why so quick to be judgemental? The projects as you call them(HUD housing) are just like anywhere else to live,a house, a condo,an apartment, you have good and bad people..not just in low income people. Not everyone living there is a criminal just because they can't afford an expensive over priced apartment or house. Walking anywhere at night these days isn't safe. Always have to keep alert with your surroundings. I've known some pretty shady people that live in posh neighborhoods in million dollar houses, also over priced apartments. But no one judges them. Why cause they have money.. seriously, they are the ones I'd be watching and worried about cause shady people anywhere don't respect what they have and if they have money they'd stab you in the back quicker than most poor people..people who don't have much are usually more humble and grateful for what they do have. There are bad apples in every wake of life not just in the so called projects as you call them. You could be living next to a criminal and not know it till they mess up and get caught..then everyone acts surprised saying they seemed like good people,upstanding citizen..hear it all the time..but everyone seems to act like criminals only come from low income people. You have to be observant and and alert and cautious walking anywhere day or night. And as for McMansions ,last I was aware Wildwood was and should be a family resort affordable for all pay grades not just the very well off.. it will be a very sad future for Wildwood to become Millionaire Island.

Thanks so much, Joey, for the construction update. The North Wildwood Memorial Park looks outstanding. Can’t wait for it to be completed. I also was impressed with the area leading to the beach on Spicer Ave. Makes an inviting entrance to the beach. Will the other streets leading to the beach and boardwalk be done the same way? Hope so. Thanks again for all you do.

That being said, I have been going to the crest and the Astronaut motel the last 3 years, which has become a condtel. Some of the rooms are updated and some have not been. Just wondering if you ever got any info on the history and or updates on that Motel..... I remember it nostalgically from when my parents took us there in the early 60s... Some of my fondest memories of the Jersey Shore.

❤I’ve been staying at the Astronaut for nearly 50 years. Saw the addition of the third floor and the conversion into a condotel (or whatever it’s called). Was one of the many original motels built by the Morey family. Would love to see some videos on the history of the old motels both gone and still standing.

Read the difference betwen a Hotel & a Motel. Motels have intetior hallways while hotels do not so the condo conversion was mislabeled a Motel. Unfortunately Wildwood has too many hotels with narrow exterior walkways filled up with chairs. A few years ago we stayed st dumb Lolli pop Hotel in North Wildwood. Of course our room was at the end of long walkway that alwsys had st least 6 people smoking. The free Wifi only had a signsl down.on first floor near the pool. Now ho to a nice Motel in yhe Crest.

I thought the narrow stretch of the boardwalk now being rebuilt was approved to be widened, but I don't see any indication of that being done.

Last I read, the widening of the boardwalk was only in the preliminary stages and because widening the boardwalk increases the footprint, it creates a whole new level of approvals from the state. Simply rebuilding and keeping the same footprint is a lot simpler permitting process. So I do not think widening the boardwalk has been approved by the state yet so they have to keep the boardwalk width as is for now.

Cheap motels bring shitty people in the world we live in today. The reason AC and Wildwood still attract the riff raff is because of the “affordable lodging”. Converting the classic motels into condos seems like the best way to preserve the architecture while targeting a different type of customer. Something tells me that the more motels that get converted to condos the fewer problems you’ll see on the boardwalk at night.

This is awesome but the homeland panel depicts the light house in black and white. The American flag is in color, folded on a chair. The folded flag is upside down which means an area is in distress or danger. I don’t know if that can be changed. I
