Wilhelmus bij troonswisseling door Marinierskapel

Op 30 april 2013 had de Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine de eer om als eerste orkest voor Koning Willem-Alexander, Koningin Maxima én Prinses Beatrix het Wilhelmus te spelen.
De kapel stond deze dag onder leiding van Kapelmeester eerste luitenant Peter Bongaerts.
During the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander on April 30, 2013 the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy had the honour to play as first band the national anthem Wilhelmus for King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and princess Beatrix.

Thankfully, our glorious and much beloved Queen Elizabeth II of GB and NI, and other realms and dominions vowed NEVER to abdicate the Throne in 1952. True to her word, she was only separated from the Crown and her people, September 2022 by death. May Her Late Majesty rest in eternal peace. You stayed the course, you won the race. ❤❤❤❤

UK and the Netherlands have different constitutions. The British monarchy still has religious significance, whilst the Netherlands is a secular state, where the monarch doesn’t have to make oaths to an established church
