Man!! You made me laugh while saying "Krem do golenia" (shving cream) in Polish - you were spot on!! I'm impressed and very happy that you have the adventurous personality - you dare to pick up and use very unusual products! Plus I admire you for using shaving soap/cream until it is used completely! Oh and I'm grateful forever for the Voskhod blades that you often recommend - I love them too!!

Thank you for your kind words, really appreciate that! It is always fun to try new stuff, but then I find myself caught between using up products and wanting to keep offering new videos on a more regular basis. That might mean I have to cycle through some new products before using them up. To be fair, once I get back to one of these products, I will use it until it is gone!

Nice shave Michael. Obviosly Lider and Waras are my favorite shaving creams. LOL. I also love Brutal, Bond, Ziaja and many other wonderful Polish shaving products. I'm truly impressed with your Polish pronunciation. Good job Brother.

Certainly a very good cream for the price, and I agree with you about the scent! Is it the best cream ever? No, but it doesn't need to be, it just has to be a good cream FOR YOU, and it sounds like you love it! How would you compare it to the Wars shaving cream?

Another great shave, and proving it can be done for very little, like Palmolive it's cheap and cheerful. Owen in NZ 💈

Cheap clearly can do the trick and well... mass market products still offer a great shave and keep the overall cost of shaving down. I have long given up the idea of saving money PERSONALLY, but I know it can of course be done!

Great shave Michael. Actually I have to say the "Wilko" Classic razor does give up a good shave. The few times I've reached for it, I really enjoyed the shave with something like a Voskhod or a Gillette Silver Blue on board. Very underrated razor. Great for the stunt shaver too.

Hi Michael, nice vid as ever. I particularly enjoyed the 'ordinariness' of this shave. I enjoy as much as the next man, when I can afford them, pricey shaving soaps (hard, maleable ones, creams in a tub..), but of late I've been trying shaving creams in a tube. I don't think many shaving aficionados do videos on them, which is a shame for one can have very good shaves with tubed creams and don't usually cost as much.
@brianb.28948 жыл бұрын
Always a lot of fun watching your videos Michael. Never have been a big fan of mild razors. It just seems you go over an area many times where a couple of strokes with a more aggressive razor does the trick. Just my opinion. Have a good week.
@mfreedberg8 жыл бұрын
I find, though, that even with more strokes, I run less risk of razor burn or irritation with the mild razor. I just do not do very well with aggressive razors even if they are quite efficient.
@MarkEvans19628 жыл бұрын
I've got that same Wilkinson Sword Classic razor and it's great. I think it may be the best option for weaning recalcitrant cartridge users into DE shaving, precisely because, like you say, it feels very safe. The Weishi is another great, economical choice, but slightly scarier perhaps.

My mom went to Warsaw and the rest you can guess... can't wait to try it myself. I do have a question though, regarding the maintenance of this razor. should I clean it with dish soap like a metal razor? and can I disinfect it with alcohol? as this is plastic I'm not sure, please kindly advise. thanks for all the great videos!!
@mfreedberg7 жыл бұрын
You have a very nice mother! For maintenance, all you really need to do is clean the razor with an old toothbrush and some dish soap. You can of course disinfect it with alcohol, but if you are the only person using the razor (and I hope you are), then you really don't need to disinfect it at all. Just rinse it with hot water, clean it with dish soap, and rinse again and all will be well. I hope you enjoy both the razor and the Lider, let us know how it went after you used it!
@israelflaum1037 жыл бұрын
Here it goes: Having 3 days of growth, went for a 3 passes shave (WTG/XTG/XTG) after taking a shower as preparation. The Lider was easy to build into a lather, used Omega Hi-brush (synthetic), it had a nice scent and feel. I paired the Wilkinson Sword with a Feather blade (2nd use), thinking the sharper blade will compensate for the very mild razor. First stroke felt very strange, as I'm used to much heavier equipment (e.g. Merkur 38C). Continued with applying a light pressure, and found out it clogged quickly, forcing me to rinse more often than I usually do (and I use both edges). Felt really safe but still, I gave it full respect, and so, finished without cuts. On the other hand, maybe the light weight and safe feeling caused me to apply a bit too much pressure, as the feedback I got from the alum stick stinged more than ever. All in all, had a nice, clean shave, which in the end of it, the razor got a good hot water rinse and a dish soap + toothbrush royal treatment, and after dried out went into the cabin as my official travel-razor to be (first performance scheduled in June). Sealed it all off with Nivea sensitive cooling after shave lotion (kind of a splash really), and L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra sensitive after shave balm.Just in case you wondered.
@mfreedberg7 жыл бұрын
+Israel Flaum the razor does clog more easily which means more frequent rinsing. The razor is mild, and that can lead you to feeling you need to compensate by bearing down a bit, but in reality all that leads to is irritation or razor burn. I had pretty much the same issue the first few times I used the Wilkinson Classic, but you will quickly adapt and start getting much better shaves. Excellent travel option, and safe travels to you!

Hey, wait a minute: No comment in this video from TRex?? I was thinking if it was possible to make a video with the fastest shave ever you could have. Which equipment should we use, what razor for someone who really is on a hurry. You can upload this -short- video with the usual Sunday video. Also, two more questions: When did you have the worst shave you want to forget and with which equipment, and what happened then? And if someone steals all your razors, soaps, creams, brushes, blades, balms, splashes, which specific things you would want to get back?( a razor, blade, brush, soap, balm, lotion)
@mfreedberg6 жыл бұрын
Not sure just how fast I could shave, but I bet I could do it pretty quickly, especially with a no-lather cream. The worst shave I have had? It's between the Dollar Store 10 cent razor and the "Yuma/Lord" razor my parents gave me. The only razor I have immediately given up on was the Rocnel with the half DE blade -- terrible razor. If somebody stole all my stuff, what would I want back? That's an easy one to answer: ALL OF IT.

Nice! I assume it's the same blister pack with the five blades? Great starter razor and surprisingly heavy due to the metal handle insert. Just be careful not to over-tighten the plastic thread on the screw; every time I use it, I tell myself to watch out!
