A little rough around the edges, but pure, clear wisdom and energy at the center. Some are born enlightened, some seek enlightenment, some stumble into it. Beautiful, humble gentleman here.

wilko you were my youth hero , you' re now my old days mentor ! you comforted me in my opinion that rock'n'roll , r'n'b, call it whatever , had been and is so useful to the world , kind of spirituality that helps you live and that you gain all through the years by maybe committed and few abuses and then reborn to life again ! life life life ! so precious when you're getting in age ! so THANK YOU for that smile and positive will !!! you didn't lose a bit of original playing ! so pure and original !! simple as life ( which can be complicated). hope i didn't scorch english too much , i 'm french and living in corsica .

2 things are amazing about this. His right hand never stops going back and forth and his left hand never leaves the space between the 3rd and 5th frets.

As barkingbasher says, Wilko is a real inspiration. Saw him play Minehead 3 weeks ago & he was as awesome as ever. Yes, he looked tired, but he puts so much energy into his shows anyway, he was bound to be a little tired. Keep battling on, Wilko. RESPECT!

I've watched a lot of interviews with Wilko and he's truly an odd guitar player...he doesn't collect tons of them like the rest of us do...and he says he hates playing while at home...that's not what the rest of us who love his genius musical ability can understand... he's like Houdini trying to figure out how he gets all those notes all at the same time. I just recently 'discovered' his bands and Dr Feelgood...thanks to Mickey Jupp...I feel like I wasted years of my life !

A surprisingly uplifting interview on terminal cancer. Wilko Johnson from the interview: ‘The doctor was drawing diagrams with a biro and looked up and told me that I've got cancer. I mean one often imagines what one would feel if, on being told this and it wasn't like anything I'd imagine, in fact, I felt absolutely calm. It was as if he was telling me something I’d known all my life and when I walked out of the hospital and saw the blue sky and the trees and suddenly I realized I was alive and I had the most, I don’t know, it's almost an ecstatic feeling and I thought initially this is a.. I don't know, shock reaction or something. Shouldn't I be, shouldn't I be miserable, shouldn't I be… but no, I felt this aliveness, I was alive.'

Such good news. I love the guy. I saw him in a bar in North London Polytechnic in 1973? We (about 30 students) were asked to stop drinking and leave or pay a shilling or two to see Dr Feelgood. Who? I stayed and watched as they came in and set up their equipment (roadies??) Wilko was phenomenal - he couldn't keep still and played like there were two of him. I tried to study his guitar style from about 2 metres so that I could play the same, but soon discovered I couldn't. But neither can anyone else.
