Such a loss to our music. Humble, energetic, a scholar but most of all, a wonderful, skilled human being. Very much missed & so glad I was able to see him perform earlier this year. He did it right. RIP wilko. Rest easy 😟🎸

Simple in explanation but formidable to do in practice. What a charming, modest unassuming man he was.

I was just begining learning guitar that days and I haven't succeeded to played one single track of this album. It Seemed to me that an alien was playing. And it's true Wilko is from outer space ! He's my guitar hero forever !

I love it when he says "Is it too loud? Cos I don't care!" - the gleeful look on his face makes me laugh every time. Deceptive bugger is ol' Wilko - he explains how to do 'grab' chords, but he does so more than that - if you've ever seen him play Cairo Blues or Alright he can play a bar chord and also play a boogie rhythm on the bottom strings at the same time, dropping the bar chord part in and out as he wants. Takes some skill to do that. Amazing guitarist.

1st Live concert I went to, was DR Feelgood , in the Glasgow Apollo in 1975. Wilko memorised me , the way he he could add a lick, while doing that constant strum ! At the time I was a roady for my pal Billy Rankin, and he had an H+H IC 100w combo . years later I bought one.................I sleep easy now :)

Fun lesson and that flesh on string tone is fantastic…I agree with the whole keep the right hand moving and use the left hand to make "clicks" and "dings" (what he calls "stabs"...I name the sounds after what I call the sounds of the triangle, which you play the same way as the guitar except you move the left hand the opposite way to choke/release)…That's the way to play funk, model your guitar sound on a percussionist's sounds.

First band I ever saw was the Pirates. Mick Green was awesome, Wilko's technique is different, but similar. I won't bother with who was better, they're both brilliant.
5. We have a version of Roll Over Beethoven here on youtube where you can hear Lelle doing a bit of that stabbing way putting some partial cords along. So that was a little story.....long live Wilko!
