I'm more concerned about how they plan to regulate bitcoin because they've been one way then another when it comes to regulation. They tax it like a commodity (cap gains) yet they sue samurai as if it's a currency (money laundering). So regulatory clarity is more of what I care about. The US can do whatever they want with bitcoin, let the trojan horse in, sure. But will they allow self custody? Will they remove cap gains so we can just spend it? We all love number go up but I want to be able to use my money how I choose.

How is a Bitcoin reserve in any way like a petroleum reserve? How does it actually benefit citizens? The gold sitting in a building in Fort Knox certainly doesn't.

Reserve asset is different from reserve currency. Bitcoin will not replace USD as global functional and reserve currency but Botcoin will start replacing a fraction of gold as reserve asset. When Bitcoin prices appreciate substantially, Bitcoin then will then account for a larger portion of reserve asset.

I do not think btc will destroy the dollar. If anything, it actually saves the dollar because the US government would never deliberately destroy their currency without a plan to maintain their hegemony. Rather, they will figure out a way to use btc to the US currency's advantage through using btc as a reserve or as a backdoor towards a CBDC.
