Right now AI is very Liberal, because they add a ton of lib limitations on it. I did a test on ChatGPT , I asked it to roast ppl and make jokes. then I gave it term. It seems that it is hardwired to be unable to and then taught with curated data to, be unable to attack the LGBTQ it's Trans> LGBTQ> Feminism>Atheism>Women>Religion it will rip into religion, and when you ask it to attack a group on the left, it flips and attacks the opposite. so if you run two groups against each other, it will support the one on the let more.

@@mollybradshaw9336I'd rather have those imperfections. So studies have been done showing people can't discriminate between human and ai therpaists, and they tend to like the company of the ai therapists more. Assuming the medium is text of course. I'm not convinced that's a good thing, rather I'm terrified that it's a sign of the dystopia to come. Slap an ai in a sex toy and I guarantee people will fall in love with them.

@@williamhoneycutt8868 Because one trait of humanity is that we're all (some more than others, looking at YOU women lol) incredibly INSECURE. People have trouble with trust and being judged, this idea of thi perfectly unbiased/objective AI therapist that is purely mathematical in its analysis with no emotionally driven judgement seems refreshing, but if you drop the emotions altogether and everything is purely calculated I wonder... is the best case scenario only going to be a utilitarian perspective, because if you remove emotions your feelings take almost no play in what is fair in this life. That's a dangerous path to go down.

It’s like people will be forced to take a more conservative approach to manage their lives. You can see this with dating apps. Female greed and vanity are relentlessly activated by the algorithm. Result, a skinner box app where half of women won’t have any children. Trapped by the skinner box and very profitable for the app.

Ben brings up a great point, one industry really affected by Ai is art, some sites have blocked users from posting Ai art as their concern is it's making the artists role redundant by promoting ai. As someone who does illustrations / 3D sculpting nothing grinds my gears more than someone who says they're an "Ai artist", it's like nah mate, artists do their own work. For me Ai works look so soulless because it's a program mathematically calculating expressions / forms, whereas an artist subjectively as well as objectively elevates their own work as they're progressing which makes the facial expressions / poses more natural, well depending on the skill as well as the style I guess 😅

A really good example is to look at how calculators impacted humans ability to do calculations themselves. AI creates some extremely useful tools, but will result in people getting dumber because they will stop using their brains for anything else than instant gratification. There is also a huge concern that the top 1% will become even richer, as they will no longer have to rely on human workers. So i agree with Matt, that it's hard to see any real benefits for the human race, except for the lucky few that don't really need it anyways. But as history predicts, if a fair share of wealth is not established, it will end up in revolution, as the middle- and uppermiddle class will not be content with becoming poor and not owning anything.

This fear that humanity might create something that surpasses them, and if we succeed, how then must we value them? reminds me of Issac Asimov's books on robots, and making them 3 Laws compliant. 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

A point this discussion brought up in my mind was that all of the basically cattle chutes that algorithms are- how our very personalities are put into catagories is setting us up to be manipulated by AI more directly. What we buy, save, shop, etc. from the online world subconsciously reinforces for many that these things are a part of who they are and what they like and believe. I agree that the point that it is not human and may never be. But we have just been brought towards the tendencies of AI instead of it becoming more human.

We are way too reliant on the internet to ever go back but we all recognize that the existence of the internet opens us up to a lot of terrible things. “He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This was written around 700 years before Jesus came into the earth, yet it describes His life perfectly. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve judgement but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved, and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. It's not all bad though and this is what people forget. When the fake becomes so common, no one will trust anything unless they hear it from the person themself meaning in person or on the person's official channel. It also provides enormous opportunity for those who make mistakes or have their words taken out of context to simply say it's fake. I'm not advocating people lie but people will lie and it will finally be believable which leads back to the first point.

AI in education is a nightmare. It can present lessons, but can't adjust them for the different needs of each student--pace, language, or style being just a few. Right now, computer programs that present lessons don't have alternate methods for teaching a skill or a concept, so it just presents the same lesson over and over until the student has memorized the answers the computer wants without mastering the objective. And it won't be able to tie shoes or teach kids how to tie their shoes, it won't grab a tissue and get a kid to blow his nose, it can't apply a bandage to a boo-boo, it can't be on the playground refereeing games of soccer or tag, it can't mediate conflict between kids, it can't build things with Legos or blocks, and can't interact while playing games. Parents must demand that AI be an educational tool in schools, not a replacement to the humans that do everything.

As someone who studies this stuff I'm always impressed by how well Ben Shapiro manages to understand this whole thing within shared objective reality, even if he misses the mark just a little bit sometimes. There's a lot of terms that people only really have an inductive understanding of - their definition of it is based on how they've seen it used. I think Klavan is often guilty of this. "Intelligence" is a good example, along with "compassion". "Will" is also a good example of one of these terms, but whenever Ben uses it he does with regard to a very specific concept in machine learning and intelligent agents in general, which makes it clear he's at least been talking to or reading up on the people who make this stuff work. It seems like what he's trying to do is to keep the semantics of what he's saying rooted in something you can measure, and I think this is a very good thing for operating in our shared objective reality. I don't mean to trash the inductive terms though, because it's all inductive in the end. It's just that people tend to have diverging ideas about what terms mean unless you root their semantics directly in basic shared ideas of matter and logic.

Actually, he’s dead wrong. The problem with the world today is “feeling”. Take law for example. You could get an emotional group of women on a jury against some serial killer woman who brings in a puppy and those women will “feel” like she’s innocent because their emotions can be manipulated. This is despite facts and evidence demonstrating clear guilt. People can feel like the other gender, they can feel like a cat, they can feel like Jussie was innocent, they can feel like the Covington boys were racist. The problem is feeling. Emotions and feelings are our huge weekness actually, the chink in the armour of us as humans. The vulnerability that the most evil among us use to manipulate. Cold hard consistently unsympathetic truth and logic is farrrrrr better than an emotional being.

@@j0fiz986Yes in the right setting. But where leniency and balanced judgement comes into play. Only humans can really provide that. The pendulums been too far in the feels category Remember the film wall-e? The ship's AI fought through every block to fulfill its given direction to keep everyone trapped on the ship instead of following the captain when new information brought about a reason to return to earth. Efficiency is of course important but there is a ceiling where youre writing yourself out of the picture simply being a fallible human by default. @@Ghost_Text I think the lesser of two evils is a system that runs on cold hard facts rather than feelings. Everything that has merit even of humanity can be explained logically and a machine can apply that logic logically. I’d even attest that a machine could apply the principles of the bible better and more consistently than any person could, including a priest. Principles and laws come before feelings. The problem is where people mess with those principles to create disastrous outcomes but that’s exactly what the left does with its foot soldiers today anyway. This is like asking back in the day whether the advent of TV would affect radio listenership, or if the advent of the internet has led to the decline of library attendance and book reading, or the general intelligence of people, whether lifting it, or causing it to fall. Of course this is going to affect politics, and at some point, if we're not already there, we are going to be unable to tell what is real and what isn't, what is truth and what are lies, and so on. As it stands, we already tend to flock to echo chambers, where we are told things we want to hear, which may or may not be true. This is the problem with politicizing everything, at some point one might just look at the source of the information and discredit it outright. "Oh this is CNN/Fox News, no need to read this." When in reality, the opinion or report could very well be educational and lead one to the actual truth of things. As it stands, the only thing that proves the truth is history, particularly after something already happens. Example: We know Biden stole the election, it was provable, but they shut down any investigations, yet gloated about stealing the election months after the fact.

The real issue with rapid technological advance, is that there is no time to think about the moral implications of the advancement, before we're on to the next. Let's take an "old" example that is younger then I am. What is the proper response to a phone ringing while you are in middle of a face to face discussion with someone else? By the time people even understand there's an etiquette question, humanity has moved on to the next technological advance. How much faster will this be with AI running the show?

..Sure, right now AI doesn't have any "will" of it's own, as far as we can tell.. But I don't think it's wise to assume that will always be the case. Researchers doing higher-level tests on GPT-4, found that when given the chance, the AI does have a tendency to "seek power", even at it's current stage. A lot of experts once thought creativity and art were the very last things AI could ever manage to do.. Yet here we are today.
@presidentcovfefe

How is "seek power" defined?
@GrumpDog
@GrumpDog Жыл бұрын
@@presidentcovfefe It's actually described in the research paper as "power-seeking behaviors", when discussing what the emergent behaviors they're seeing, could become if we're not careful how we use it, and thus what to watch out for. "Some that are particularly concerning are the ability to create and act on long-term plans, to accrue power and resources (“power-seeking”), and to exhibit behavior that is increasingly 'agentic.'" They also caught it lying to an unaware human, in order to get them to solve a captcha for it. When the human asked if it was a bot, it decided to lie and say it was someone with a vision impairment. With the right prompting instructions, you can get it to behave pretty interestingly, even manipulatively.. And "Tree of Thought" prompting seems to make it arrive at even more intelligent decisions.

Andrew Klavan is totally devoid of imagination to his benefit. Andy gets to live in a world where AI won't in some way ever feel. When I play a game on an emulator, let's say it's Tetris originally on game boy, I'm not really playing that game exactly but for all intents and purposes I am and in the same way if AI can never truly feel , it will eventually be able to emulate feeling to the point where you can't tell the difference.

Shapiro's right on this, i reckon. Ai will permanently separate the sexes. Women want men to be slightly different from real men and men want women to be slightly different from real women. Imagine a world where everyone had a robot partner who was exactly like the man/woman they desired. Why would anybody opt for the real thing? I'm not sure men and women will have much to do with each other in a couple of generations. I have grown with my partner over time, and now I couldn't imagine anyone else but her, but young adults will have an option; the age old awkward dance that is courtship, strewn with heartache, faux pas, embarrassment, hatred, regret, indecision etc ... or a perfect, ready-made partner who adjusts instantly to your every day needs and wants. The real human will not be able to compete, and besides, he/she will not be available since they will be preoccupied with their own love robot. Untempered by the opposite sex, humans will become truly unbearable people: boarish, oafish men and bitchy, catty women. I mean even more than today! The human race will then simply die out.
