Remember that reviews are subjective. Don't rely on one person’s opinion - watch multiple 'reviews' and make your own mind up. Unlike some, I don't do this to replace a day job as that makes the creative decisions all about 'getting paid'. I am free to be completely honest and clear in the videos I make. I’m not asking vendors to pay for these videos, so opinions are mine alone.
Please also keep in mind that the comment section is not a forum: any comments that are rude, disrespectful or use bullying or threatening language will be deleted. Pedantry isn't encouraged either. This channel is all about helping others and passing on advice and ideas, so please comment in that spirit. Comments that don't adhere to these simple rules will be deleted.
Thanks again for watching! Remember to use the playlists as I collect videos into subjects to help you learn about a topic and find related information.

The Pixhawk type boards are called “open hardware” because they adhere to openly published hardware standards for things like pinouts, ports, connector types, etc.

Thanks for the comment, that still sounds backwards to me. Surely being compliment with a published spec isn't equal to "open'. It's equal to, 'compliment to the xxx standard'. Language definatley came from the traditional side of the Ardupilot house here... 😅

You mention that new boards are being supported by ArduPilot all the time; and I know from experience that it is often not very difficult to add a hwdef for a new board. Unfortunately, a lot of the flight controllers you mention on your channel can never run Ardupilot because the SOC they use has less than 1MB of flash which is the absolute minimum which ArduPilot requires; 2MB of flash is required for the full feature set. It would be nice if you would mention this particular spec when you cover a shiny new flight controller.

Using hobby grade boards is a great way for pilots, more used to things like Betaflight and INAV, to first access the power of the Ardupilot ecosystem. These hobby based flight controllers easily run enough features for new pilots and can provide an excellent stepping stone to more powerful hardware that can unlock all of the benefits. Stuff like flash memory and CPU are easy to find. Happy flying

very clear explanation, sir. Thanks for sharing ❤ if you dont mind, would you please give me info about what IC/microcontroller is used in Ardupilot, does it run in 32bit? (Its so expensive here)

Ardupilot is the software, not hardware. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqeliXmgndxga68si=hMZ77vEjXcM81Zj- The higher end systems like Cubepilot (Cube Orange+ most commonly), have H7 based processors. But Ardupilot will run on lots of other, less powerful processors in hobby grade FCs....

Hey mate I had a guy ask me the other day to which I could not completely answer and had a hard time googling “how can you flash from ardupilot back to inav?” Maybe a good future video topic!

Using the normal method. I've shown it on the channel before. Sometimes you do need to get the FC into DFU mode by pressing the button on it to get it 'flash ready' ;)

@ that’s what I thought too, it was a speedybee fc maybe he was doing it wrong, cheers for the reply!

So many of the questions on videos can be answered by doing that. But, that requires you to know what to look for and what it's called! 😁 Happy flying!
