So good! Whenever I hear about AI and the future for creatives, I always feel a sense of relief and appreciate when the information comes from a perspective of 'We still can Shape that Future'. I've learned as long as we stay clear-eyed and sober as to what will 'Definitely' change, what 'Maybe' will change, and we adapt to it, we'll all be better for it. Thank you.

Yes! Thank you for noticing that. It’s so important for people to know that the future isn’t set in stone and it also isn’t just up to a few people in Silicon Valley. We can all shape it ❤

as a filmmaker who works both in the mainstream industry and in the indie space it's incredibly refreshing to hear a voice that highlights the abundant opportunities presented by ai to indie filmmakers like me. studios aren't the only option for entertainment and that is likely a great thing for the future of movies

I wonder if those who create "approved" a.i. Tools and content will need to make them easy enough to use and compelling enough so that "unapproved" tools don't take over. I can see the Napster of a.i. Being created and the inventors hiding behind the fact that they didn't make the content but just provided the tools to everyone. Finding ways to protect data that a.i. Systems can use to train will be essential so that the correct people get credited and paid. For now, training a.i. systems can be protected because you need something like Nvidia's A100s and GH200 that are very expensive, easy to track and centralized. But when things get more pervasive, controlling modeling data will need to be a priority. The apple music or spotify of a.i. training data might need to be created to make approved tools more attractive, hopefully with a more equitable model for creators.

Everything here is great. It is the most ideal use of AI in the industry. My concerns are 1. Studios are always going to look for the best ROI. Meaning they will try and find the cheapest option and because nothing was done to limit what was used to train the AIs right now, it could be too late. 2. We're looking at things here, but what about other countries? If there are no laws in another country to limit what is used to train the AI, and that is used to make content, itwill be very difficult to regulate. I 100% agree, drive into the slide instead of fighting it. And I hope the version of the future we get is the one in which everyone is fairly compensated for their time, their work and their likeness, but the systems are already being built without those ideas in mind and I worry people will not turn back the clock or retrain from scratch like we would potentially need.

Studios will absolutely try to focus on ROI ... but they too could see some massive changes as a result of AI. And there is a future where creatives are more empowered and have the advantage

@@sineadbovell9699 from your mouth to the gods ears. I feel like studios are already using AI to select projects, which is why everything is so repetitive. "It worked before, do it again" approach to greenlighting projects could use some adjusting. Hopefully creatives can use AI tools and the Gen Z shift to less "traditional" mediums as a way to cut back the stronghold the majors have. That's until Tik Tok either starts it's own studio or is bought by someone lol.

What an awesome video. Normally I have a doom and gloom feeling about Hollywood. However you opened my eyes to something I didn't consider. Writer's being able to maybe one day lease digital copies of actors. So they could in effect compete with high level studios maybe work together creating direct subscription models or even just creating unique actors digitally. Even like on KZbin some simple started channels look better than tv networks. Personally I wanna stay look tore down with wires exposed but what is happening is impressive nonetheless. So good job I was going to push back and present all the reasons I feel ai scripts are indistinguishable but this all does show how unpredictable the future can be. I just want the world to be careful and not think it can overcome the 4th industrial revolution like its predecessors. Anyway excellent job I'll be tuning in!

thank you!! I'm so glad that's how you felt because it's what I was trying to do with this video. Describe the challenges but also the opportunities for creatives.

What easier, AI to replace “writing” or AI to replace “acting” - seriously - it’s not even comparable (which is why the actor had no concerns joining the strike as their jobs where never really in jeopardy for anything - more - than pay cuts… but writers can totally be replaced) Remember back in the 70s when unions begged Americans that “Buy American” and Liberals from Hollywood to Government told them “learn to code” - well, Karma is a bitch, and arbitrarily trying to force people to pay more for - less - quality usually runs up against REALITY! While CGI “actors” still look like CGI actors and - even the best modeling of movement and voice comes off as “modeling” of the human form and voice… Writing for the moving pictures is so base and generic that no one can tell WHO wrote a script… it’s just a “script” Worse, everything WOKE being re-produced the day is just existing material with stereotype plugins to push the Socialist, Secular, Egalitarian and Hedonist MESSAGING! (Or what the Bolsheviks called “Socialist Realism” and not much survived of that!) Add that producers are now actually turning a PROFIT by NOT producing and you have the perfect storm that will probably end up busting all the “entertainment” (propaganda) unions. For - much as Chinese Factory workers can churn of cheaper stuff for Walmart and Apple (that Liberals don’t hesitate to buy) - foreign actor speaking reasonably good English (and American) can full the roles of anything less than “movie stars” But writing doesn’t need to be outsourced and/or offshored… generating a script with WOKE messaging with a database of movie dialogue is peanuts by comparison… As for truly inspired writing… like acting… there is little and most has to be Independent until it proves profitable! The rudimentary stuff just needs to give the actors enuff to go to town wit’ and it doesn’t require much to launch an actor into “shredding the scenery” So, like Hollywood told Americans “learn to code” (then Government colluded with Corporations the flood the programming labor market with H1Bs) I don’t think there is any sympathy for the strike (unless one follows the Soviet Democrat Party campaign slogan that “Amerikkka was NEVER that great” because pushing that button - exclusively - only turned off the streaming… and encouraged people to tune out… click.
