As a buyer, I kinda hope it does happen, but it will be ages before it happens over here, if at all. Being able to buy gold off the shelf would be fun… but that’s also why I love you guys’ site so much! Even though I’m an ocean away from the US, I can go online, know exactly what I want, find it, buy it and get it shipped to the UK with ease, and have it in my hands within a week in most cases!

Lots of people are buying on costco and flipping it. What happens is that they get it for 4% off then sell it to a local coin shop. The 4% off comes from the executive membership that they already have and the 2% cash back costco card (2% +2%). They make about 50 to 100$ per 1 oz of gold.

I know Asians love gold. In China they buy little gold beans. I bought gold in Friday during the pullback since I though the $2500 oz is not a fluke but reality sooner than we think. Costco is where I buy most of my one ounces and my LCS for silver and fractional gold. I only started but metals a year ago since our next recession may cause a debt crisis in the US

I have never held precious metals until i saw it at costco. I'm starting to stack now. All purchased from costco. My perspective i trust them to provide a good product at a reasonable price. Also I end up there once a week whether I want to or not.

Costco does sell good products at a reasonable price. Their precious metals selection is no exception. Gold buffalos, gold eagles, gold PAMP, and their silver selection will be top choices for anyone who has been investing and saving in PMs.

They changed it a few months ago. They started with only 2 per transaction on 1 oz gold bars, now is 5. Now, they also sell 50gm and 100gm gold bars online. And also their inventory comes online way more often than before.

The last time i bought silver was when i could get it @ .50 over spot per oz. w/no minimum nearly 10 years ago. Fiat money = you can't gamble on promises. Political rhetoric is disgusting.

If The US put the 420 grain Trade Dollar back into regular circulation, via part of debt repayments and issued with visa's and passports, then other countries would do the same. Global currency for citizens in the form of silver is an easy sell.

Precious metals is a commodities industry. Margins are already very thin, and lowering production costs further is generally very challenging. There are high fixed costs with large capital expenditures involved with upgrading or updating mines or mints. They take years to implement and then longer to see a return on the investment. It's unlikely we'll see the same kind of disruption occur in this industry as compared to a company producing plastic products or clothing. The barriers to entry are very high, as is the cost to compete.

@@apmex That does make sense. However, in this time period, the manufacturing developments are swift. Tesla is stamping out a drive train every 30 seconds, despite the high costs, and Elon says 10 seconds by next year. Its nice to have that unlimited bankroll. Scottsdale and Perth both can switch and mint seemingly overnight, and current news topic specialty rounds are minted and stamped within 24 hours now. Everybody knows which rounds I am talking about, cause they are selling very fast right now. When the big boxes get that game rolling like they have done with plastic toys, the little guys could be in trouble.

You can buy it online when you login with your membership. It’s not available all the time and products and prices change every day.

That is not true. However, some stores which are unfamiliar with the procedures might need to be educated about the state laws and they will take it out.

It depends on the State, and the sales amount. For California, as long as it is over 2000$ you are exempt of sales tax. However, if you are not aware of that, and neither is the cashier , you may be charged which of course is wrong.

I disagree. Mainstream media is now covering our debt problem. People are becoming educated that we are already in a silent depression with interest alone on our public debt outstrips annual defense spending and is destined to outstrip defense AND Medicare spending by 2026 according to the CBO. We are on a very bed trajectory and gold, silver, along with land, and real estate are the only proven assets to weather what’s coming. BTC and the stock market are a house of cards.
