I think finding new beta is a fair reason for a downgrade, especially with so few ascents.

Pretty sure Aiden tried this beta and didn't find it easier. Seems to me, what with finding a heelhook on BOD will is probably very good at heelhooks and that he's being a bit harsh.

He's also going to the US in June so conditions pretty much everywhere will be bad. Except maybe at high altitudes, e.g. Lincoln Lake

Will is in beast mode right now! From what I understand though it’s not technically ‘new’ beta as Aiden did try the heel but couldn’t make it work for him as he felt he was then stuck and unable to move out of the position. Does that mean it really deserves a downgrade though, no way I can comment on that lol

Just cause Aiden couldn't do the heel doesn't mean the heel isn't an easier way of doing it, it just means Aiden couldn't do it so yes downgrade 😊

I think will uses a higher left foot. He gets the heel in, shifts the left foot up, and then shifts it up again ? It’s a crazy hip mobility thing aha, honestly seems as impressive as doing the full on shoulder move

Why have UKC and the world started framing grades like this? It was an unrepeated boulder, he found easier beta for him, he proposed a different number. 2 people isn't enough data to solidify a grade. So the current grade is 8c/+

There’s a whole video to be done on titles and tbh, we’re with you, but the problem is that if you don’t play the game (to some extent) then the stuff you make doesn’t get seen. It’s a tricky balance, and we try to balance it, but it’s not easy 🤷🏼‍♂️
