You can just use heat to remove a internal captured race also. Just make it bright red in 3 or 4 spots or the whole race and when it cools it'll fall right out. Welding works too but can be messy. Weld spatter and bearings don't mix well.

I've done some vertical rescues with kern mantle ropes, similar to the recovery rope you use. Stepping on them, driving over them, etc. does almost nothing to the strength of them. Anything short of parking a tire on that rope and turning the wheel back and forth will do negligible damage. Now, the amount of sunlight those ropes see... that causes much more damage. So stow them in a bag when you're not using them. *Edited to say, that would be cool swag - embroidered rope bags. Just an idea

Random question, I recently bought a 04 WJ and it made a loud pop in the rear end and sounded like I was dragging something but when I checked nothing was dragging and everything seemed to be in the correct place. The sound speeds up when I let off the throttle and gets a little quieter when I press the throttle. If someone has ran into this problem before and has a clue what may be wrong I’d appreciate the advice.

How does a 1.6L Suzuki (modern siderail turbo diesel?)running on LPG, stack up against a big block Chevy. Pros & cons. Samurai vs Scorpion eg?
@bleepinjeep2 жыл бұрын
Well, that would take more explanation than I can comment, but I would say one is a very purpose built rig made to do one task very well. Kinda like a forklift…. It lifts pallets really well but you wouldn’t feel that great driving it down the highway. The other is a four wheeler, still does ok off-road and better on the highway and at speed but still not great. I’ll let you guess which one is which. But, no neither of our Jeep’s have diesels or big blocks, they are both low power slow machines.
