BYD has definitely increased its footprint in Brazil and ASEAN but the Cherry is overall leader globally and they prioritize global market over local, SAIC is leader in the Europe and GWM are established player in Australia and South Africa.

Chery sells less than 100,000 cars in China while BYD sells 250k plus per average month in China. BYD holds the key to the Future, it's the second largest battery maker in the world and is the most vertically integrated company in history thereby has a dominant advantage in cost and scale. Chery makes a loss on every EV it sells while BYD already makes a profit. Chery sells ICE cars globally not EVs and ICE cars sales are set to fall so within years BYD international impact will supercede Chery
