Hey, my game got cast (HotSauce). This is indeed not masters, but silver league. I am, however, actually placed in masters. At least that is what my league symbol says. It is of course a glitch. My MMR is around 2200 and my opponents are also at that niveau - silver league. After I got intially placed in silver, I kept getting league promotions. After a couple of games I was promoted to gold 2, ok, fine. But after just a couple of games, I got promoted again to platinum, then diamond. This is when I was feeling really out of place. The next time I saw the promotion screen, I was like "Finally I am going to loose a couple of tiers!", but NOPE -> masters. I've been stuck there since. On the ladder I actually encountered another dude with the same placement in masters, but he was very much at silver level - like me.

That happened to be 13 years ago I stopped playing ladder. What people do is that they purposely quit games so they can stay in bronze silver gold. But the algorithm thinks you are beating all these players and so you keep getting promoted That's just one reason why it happens.

I know exactly what you mean about the different menus. There used to be a chinese restaurant on the Bedford highway where once a week or so they would bring out the real chinese food. Rice pasta with crab inside, things I can't remember, that really stinky fruit, it was a good time.

I know what you mean at Thai Express. The one at the Rideau Center makes it hot as hell. The one inside a government building a few blocks away? Absolutely no detectable heat. At the mall food court you'll see every kind of person. At the gov, white as mayo.

It's funny one of the Thai restaurants in my town has a "Thai spicy hot!" category above all the other levels of spicy. Except it's not actually the spiciest they make their food, they just know better than to give white people trying to flex on other white people actual Thai spice levels. A lot of the other Thai places don't have the "Thai spice" category on the menu, but other Thais know what to get.
