Will drilling holes in your DPF work? Sort of..

In a pinch I drilled 8 holes in my DPF to get me buy until DPF replacement 2 weeks later.

For that to work You have to download a engine calibration from another country. That way it will disable the dpf system. Dealership won't do that. Some outside shops do but it's illegal

This is true several guys that drive for the company that I drive for I've deleted it completely may I want to do this temporarily to get me by that's why I said it was illegal in the new filter is on and running correctly

Ok. I've seen some videos of people washing them with water and a pressure washer and apparently it works. I should have tried that before eliminating mine. 🤷

Thanks from across the pond. Im doing this on my tiny truck ( fordtransit) . After it stopped completely the other day. I just ground one of the flange nuts of and eased the joint..she started straight away. Ive deceided to drill a 1” hole right through . Wish me luck👍😎

How's it running? Just got 2008 peterbilt with a C13 dpf and would shut down because it wouldn't want to regen. Mechanic charged 1800 took it off and drilled the whole thing out.

I was kind of wondering if drilling out the whole mesh would actually work out pretty good

Yes with a pressure washer only hot water

You drill one big hole in the middle and thats it not mini ones

True but I was lucky to find tbe one bit and the place had no saw blades.
