Its funny...I was a sailor on a ship out at sea. We had a ship library stocked by the USO. I found both Best of and Femmes Fatales collections of The Spirit there and quickly became a big fan.

If you haven't read Will Eisner's Hawks of the Sea, I really recommend it, for some reason Pirate Comics aren't that prevalent even though I think they are ideal for the genre.

Came back here after your two latest videos (don't know why, just felt like listening to you talk about Eisner) and I really do have to give "A contract with God" another chance. By the way, the Spirit Archive hardcovers are all available in a comic shop I frequent, but in Spanish, which is a shame. Great video, as always.

I LOVE the idea of folks revisiting my older videos, in spite of how some things in them may make me cringe today. I do try (not always successfully) to make my videos as resistant to the passage of time, so your feedback on them would be great! I did manage to pick up one bargain-bin copy of the Spirit Archives, and as wonderful as the archiving spirit is for those (see what I did there) I was disappointed in the size, which seemed smaller than a regular issue! Is that the case with the editions you see or am I misremembering?

@@ftloc Yeah, I looked it up and the Spanish hardcovers are 17 by 26 cm (which is small by European standards).
