A lie everybody recognizes as a lie has to be somewhat psychologically freeing. Especially when humor is involved. It's its own kind of truth. When you’re a candidate for the C.I.A.... you probably go thru about 50-100 hours of being taught how to lie and to easily pass a polygraph. It’s just controlling your heartbeat and when you do it enough, it doesn’t matter what you say, true or false..... it’s just about the secrets of being calm/temporarily believing what you’re saying and just basic breathing control. They have it down to a science.
