Debra Messing is actually not a 50-something yet, just so you know. She's still in her 40s, as is Sean Hayes.

With all the gay people that David is friends with, I'm sure he could have found someone more suitable to review WAG than Foster. Foster commenting on WAG is like Fox News commenting about Obama or Black Lives Matter.

I liked Foster so much on the RuPaul review episodes because he was engaged and geeky and funny. But he didn't seem to connect to this show and so he only saw the problems. Can someone send him the box set of Will and Grace and force him to watch them over a week or so? Or am I describing the next Hostel movie?

Get rid of the guy in the glasses, if you are going to do a show describing a show get someone who watches TV.

Having just watched the second episode(Ben Platt is adorable!), I'm happy so far. A standout joke for me was Grace's drag name "Judy Ism". That might be an old joke but it cracked me up. I think y'alls critiques while valid and "woke", are also a bit harsh. The show is a sitcom, a dated format, with a dated cast and crew trying to be an entertaining show within ~20 minutes. The premiere episode involved politics, that seemed gutsy to me. It's still a show on a major network, the network wants people watching. It's a delicate balance to be entertaining, maybe on occasion educational, without being preachy.

I enjoyed the Will & Grace S9 premiere... but yeah, it could be because I was a fan from the beginning of this show and I knew the characters, but it might not be that awesome for new viewers... the premiere got 10.2 mil views, so ppl did tune in. Now, what matters is how many people will stick with it. Also, I've heard that the upcoming episodes will be 'less political' as they had to be political in the premiere. The divorce thing will also be addressed cos both actors that played Grace and Will's ex-husbands will be in the episode. But yeah, let's see what happens with this show, which NBC has already greenlit for a S10.

Mr. Donna Karan is about as goofy in his analysis as he is in appearance. You're too old for the Harry Potter look dude!!

great review totally agree with pretty much everything, loved the criticisms . I feel they were very spot on having said that, I liked the episode alright. hope they start writing acknowledging the real age of the actors as well also, I gotta say I laughed so much when it was mentioned that sitcoms are old... coz they really are the new television has grown past it. tbh this is the only sitcom I'm interested in in years, can't think of the last one I saw (I got tired of HIMYM after a couple of seasons and TBBT? is that still on?) anyway, thanks guys. keep up the good work

way to suck all the fun from a sitcom. Don’t ask that guy back. It’s like a review for a funeral.

I loved it! So happy they're back. It's supposed to be funny and irreverent and it was. I think Foster was perhaps looking for a different show than W&G ... but I for one am glad the W&G is STILL W&G. Still laugh out loud funny.

I don't think it was a laugh "track", but the studio audience volume was too loud.

i think that you guys are too severe with this show. I'm a gay p.o.c. and i discover this show as a tween and i never saw will and jack as white gay men but just as gay men that live in a world where they are still a second class citizen.
@bhumphries13606 жыл бұрын
A bit too much focus on age don't ya think? And why bother reviewing a show if you never even followed it before? This show brings back a lot of memories to me...so I couldn't disagree with you more! Give me a break on the pretentiousness! Their jokes and stereotypical behaviors are generally not meant to be taken seriously. Go review something you have more knowledge of.....maybe a reality show perhaps, or a you tube channel! You make the gay youth of today look a little..... misinformed.

Clearly the first episode was pretty political, but the last night’s episode was the W&G we knew. I laughed so hard at how Jack reacted when he knew Blake doesn’t like Madonna.
@Alan.Endicott7 жыл бұрын
My fears were realized. Continuity was dismissed in the lamest way. These characters were gone 11 years and we got almost nothing about their lives over that time. I would have preferred that Karen's hallucination be used to explain why we find them where we do. I also felt like they were desperate to show how contemporary and culturally relevant they were (e.g., woke, fidgetspinners, Grindr, etc.). I understand the show's creators, producers, cast and network are all liberal, but I'd rather the show avoid politics. I want my entertainment to be a retreat away from politics. If they must be political, I would love for them to explore a real story arc involving Will dating a gay conservative. A member of Congress is a bit unrealistic, but gay conservatives do exist, even in Manhattan. I think it could do a lot of good to explain to an audience that does not understand how someone could be both gay and conservative, how politics can disrupt what could otherwise be a good relationship, and still mine it for laughs.

I watched all of the original shows ( and still do) but at some point towards the end of the series Graces character went from cute and quirky to incredibly obnoxious and boring. It’s as if they got a new female writer and told her to write Graces lines as if she was speaking them. I still loved the show and the rest of the cast - just not Grace. This new show is just awful though. I don’t need everyone to be 20 something like some “ sensitive “ person mentioned in the comments-- but to all have the same lives while trying to ACT and LOOK like they’re in their 20s? That’s just depressing. I kept waiting to laugh during the three episodes I watched. Reboot FAIL
