Golfing used to be an insanely popular sport & stuff like this could go for hundreds back in the 1950's to 1990's. Nowadays popularity for golfing has reduced so little, a lot of stuff like that just isn't worth a whole lot anymore. Plus you can get cheap gold club bags for like $20 super easily, no need to pay hundreds for something like it anymore.

@@chexcollects I do live in the USA, golfing is no where near as big as it is today vs how it used to be in the 1950's - 1990's. Not even close. Even from 2012 to 2022, over 1 million+ golf courses have shut down in the USA alone. U.S Participants have declined dramatically to, from over 30 million+ in 2005 - 06 to 25 million today. It was actually even lower at 23 million in 2016 - 2018 to. Only reason it's recovered some is largely because of COVID. It's been on a down ward spiral for a few decades now in terms of popularity, dying out a lot slower then other industries but it is noticeable. The only thing that's bigger then ever for golfing nowadays is revenue made by increasing prices, which alienates more & more people from ever trying to do golfing to begin with.

Seeing that "silver" plate with the guy with clubs reminded me....be on the lookout for a Philadelphia Mint Dime... you know, just your typical, regular old 10¢ dime.....but it's a legitimate minted dime the size of a dinner plate lol. It's exactly how they build and mint a regular dime with the different metals and side striations and everything, all the correct details, just massive. I remember seeing a penny, dime, nickel, and quarter all the same, and I'm almost certain (about 3 decades ago) they came in a velvet lined wooden box with all the Philly Mint identification. I remember seeing them inside the Mint when I was young (ok, almost 4 decades ago now I think about it) up for sale.

Hey Pete, You should invest into a record cleaner, that way you can determine if the LP, 45, 78, transcription disk has a scratch or if it is Dust in the grooves. Dust can mimic Scratches, so removing the dust/Debris can be a game changing event! Though, I think the lowest Cleaner I have seen that is fairly ok looking is about $500/USD - I may be wrong on that though. but, if you are a serious buyer of LP's,45, 78... then this may be something you should at least look into buying. also, A lot of radios will not work unless you have an Antenna connected. Especially if this is an early Solid State radio. mainly a grounding is needed. I would retry to use the radio, but with an antenna Connected.

Good to pass on the Bang & Olufsen turntable. It's not that they're at all bad, it's that the cartidges are proprietary and not standard mount, and they cost much more than the turntable to re-tip or restore. That's why you'll always see them online for 100$ . Either you find new old stock cart (which the cantilever and internals can be dried out), or you pay 400$ to have one re-done by Soundsmith.
