The guys' outside activities,, Momma's progress in the kitchen with her superb recipes for the homestead, (any wonder why this family is so happy?) and how you teach us all that it can be done on less than an acre!!! Homesteaders around the world rate you in the top 3 of homesteaders due to the response of animals in the allotted space, the interaction of you guys with your pets and also the fact that you are passing on those unique!y rare skills to your adorable children. Being a mother myself, I look at all children and think "what a shame they grow', OK, Shoot me!!! You are proving that self sustenance is possible on an acre of land. That shrimp looked so good. I prefer pecans so I like that you mentioned that at the end of the recipe. And that sauce would be good on many things: like asparagus or cauliflower. As a 14 year old with 11 goats I highly suggest it. I have had goats for 3 years now. I feed, water, give shots, milk, breed, assist birthing and everything all by my self. I have bottle fed 6 of the 11 all on my own to. It's so, so much work and I say I spend about 3 hours a day average outside tending to them and proably 1 hour a day on facebook or other places to learn about goats and how I can better my herd. It's a lot of work, but it has made me more responsible and even though it's a lot of work I still suggest it. I also sell and buy all the goats and I get 100% of the profit. I also buy the food and everything they need like medicine. I basically have a job, a well paying job at that, and I an only 14. Maybe you can show this to your parents and it will persuade them a little.
