I think hoplite did everything right, the server was made well and advertised well by speed silver which led to more people making videos on it, however I think that people will eventually get bored of it just like UHC was once popular and it's not anymore, they made a really impressive server but they didn't reinvent the wheel.

Interesting video, but I do disagree with your points about players being bored with the pvp mechanics. The mechanics aspect of 1.9 pvp was definitely not a pull factor in getting players to play it. If that was the case, then uhc players would hop on 1.9 pvp since 2016, but that didn't happen because 2016 was the peak of 1.8 uhc pvp. The real reason I suspect is that 1.9 pvp has a much more limited skill ceiling, which means the effects of cheating are much less pronounced in 1.9 than in 1.8. You don't get as much advantage for cheating on 1.9 than on 1.8. The old combat system was definitely not what pushed players out of 1.8 uhc. In fact, it was the opposite: 1.8 pvp compelled players because the higher skill ceiling made it more fun. The real issue was the cheating problem and that there was a lack of a consistent and competent server hosters that can properly deal with cheaters

For your first statement, there were no UHC servers for 1.9 in 2016, I never said that cheating wasn't the main cause for players to leave 1.8, matter of fact this video isn't even about why players are leaving 1.8 UHC. This video is to go through various reasoning on how Hoplite could save the gamemode, I stated the versions as one part of it. Obviously there are other huge factors to it (Mythic Weapons, Structures, Perks / Cosmetics). These things bring a whole new aspect to the gamemode.

I'm just clarifying one point you made that I dont agree with for the 1.9 uhc servers bit, I should've clarified that if there would've been a higher demand to create uhc servers if this combat mode was truly more enticing than old combat, and that there would've been much more successful 1.9+ servers for that gamemode during that time period to now. Ultimately, im just refuting one point that you made im not talking about your whole video

I believe that it is a great server becuase of the pvp style but also the uniquness. The 1.20 pvp is new and everyone is only getting the hang of it. On top of the legendary weapons it is the best
