Podcasting is an oversaturated market, just like music nowadays. You have to have so many dofferent X factors popping in the perfect way or you drown along with the others. You skate, you talk to skaters, you should be SKATING and doing collab videos and having fun. Look at Dan Corrigan, and others that are just in a natural zone, bullshitting, skating, make videos about random shit and diversify your channel into different sections for these different aspects you do, if not even seperate channels. And with podcasting people want to hear people talking like old buddies, bullshiting cracking jokes and if it sounds more journalistic people are easy to get thrown off. Get musicians ypu know and work with to skate or try some shit, interview them, try and talk about local skateparks and line up guests and locations with music venues and places ur already gonna be amyway, do less reaching farther than comfortable and more keeping it homegrown. Idk shit, but im just speaking on what i like to see and listen to as a viewer
