@nocontrolrc8290 those engines aren't bad. Not great but not bad. Run it for a while at least . Another upgrade is 990 carb . Once you want more power after pipe. Get a genuine Zenoah G320. The same pipe you buy will go onto it. However your never going to be realy satisfied performance wise until u get rid of the 4 🏀 basketballs

I've found a good deal on a used on of these. Originally I was wanting a rovan 32cc buggy. But this looks nice for the price, I'd probably want smaller tires, but I've heard the hexes on these are odd sized. I think the body is broken on the used one too. $250, guy says it has a 36cc engine and bad electronics

As mattyc1970 said, switching from stock 6k clutch spring to red 8k spring will wake it up a bunch. I put a rovan 45cc in mine- NOW it's a monster truck! The 45cc rovan requires the smaller starter parts from 36 engine to keep the frame side railing. OR- use 45cc as it comes, cut a bit off frame to fit and simply add a little metal brace over it. Easy peasy, and NOW you can gear up a bit and still have more bottom end power.

I have 1 for about 2 years so far . . I went with Dboots copperhead BB tires . . Size and weight make it a lot faster . . Ditched the dual servo for a single 70kg . . 990 carb and expansion exhaust really wke it up . . I use a DX5 . . DON'T FORGET A KILL SWITCH ! ! !

@nocontrolrc8290 I can see it already, and I'll be here for it. One thing I highly recommend is to upgrade your tires... they will definitely not hold up after 50 mph with an electric setup. The body is known to be fragile, so nothing surprising about yours breaking to pieces on the 1st run. The platform (chassis) is pretty good, tho. The 12s setup will definitely wake things up lol. Can't wait 😆

For anyone looking at the Redcat MT or cousin the Exceed Hannibal, these are awesome! BUT- don't get one if you don't have the patience or interest in maintaining them! In that sense they're kind of like the real thing. There are gear options, motors up to 45cc can fit, clutch options. If you're already a "gasser" owner this will not faze you. BTW, Hannibal is 60mm longer chassis and shares 90% of parts with MT. The Hannibal body is strong! Don't Know whos selling Exceed stuff now, Nitrorcx has site up but doesn't respond I have both, love em, especially with a rovan 45cc!

ive had mine for 7 years. i have replaced the body 9 times lol so i now use fiberglass to reinforce teh body, i also have a tuned pipe and a new carb. think when i bought mine it was 500 bucks i do not play with it a lot i have a couple of smaller nitro cars and a couple of electric also. i rarely play with them anymore the upgraded engine iss best. goes like a bat out of hell now.but reinforce the body. easy to do,

One wierd issue ALL these dual servo trucks have!!! - The servo saver adjustment screw on one side will start backing off fast. Very quickly the other servo is doing all the work and burns out. You'll read many complaints about steer servo burn out, and so many people went to a single huge servo, when all they had to do was put a bunch of washers to stop adjuster from unscrewing. Loctite is not enough. Speaking of loctite, you will be needing a lot of it. Check all the motor and trans mounts after your first runs, these things just rattle themselves apart. Also YES, these bodies are fragile! I'm making a fiberglass body for mine.

I love the big tire an wheel but just switching to the xt wheels will make it a lot more impressive the mt wheels are really heavy an use a lot of rotating mass

How do you like yours? I bought mine new in 2011 and I’ve never broken a thing on it. I recently put a new 36cc engine in it and exhaust. Seemed to wake it up a bit.

strange, did you tune it? or were you driving stock out of the box? also I think the reason the body shattered was because it was cold, over here the heat doesnt allow that.

The video was right after break-in period. It turns out I have a blown out gasket that had to be replaced. It has crisper throttle response now. But upgrades are coming. Thanks for watching

1/5 Gas is the most overrated category of R/C IMO. After owning a 5ive-T, I found it to be underpowered and way too noisy to be enjoyable, and good luck when you destroy the body or need a new set of tyres - you might as well buy an RZR or SXS at that point. Stick to 1/8 and below. I just don't see the point in these giant, expensive and cumbersome toys.

Your not wrong my friend. It is a hard scale and format to just go out and have fun with. We have an 5th scale outcast 8s that would extremely out perform this rc. But on the other side we enjoy getting something that we usually wouldn't get and see how it goes and what we can make it do. Sometimes it's just fun to have something different that you have to learn and experience things you haven't before is the other half of the fun for us. Thanks for watching!!
