Will I Sell my KTM 1290 for the 1390 Super Duke R?

The displacement bump isn't the big engine news, it's the shift cam variable valve timing. If they did that right, you will get the famous low end torque of that engine, but also high horsepower if you rev it up. I have the older 1190 engine, and I rarely tach it up since there's nothing up there, but maybe that will change with the new shift cam. The bike is also supposed to have better electronics to keep you from accidentally having a bad day, and there's a bigger fuel tank. The headlight is ugly, but you don't have to look at when you're riding.

In my opinion 1390 looks awesome; ı love the headlight. 190 hp, 145 nm torque, and best suspensions and new brembo’s. Its worth to see..

The new headlight looks ugly in photos, but I don't think it looks any better in reality (I had the same thought about the RC390, but I liked it when I saw it in dealer.) I think you should look at the dealer when the bike arrives and upgrade if you like it. Because the only difference is not the power difference due to emissions. There are also technological innovations.

New it has a Engine Brake, what was not available for the Pre Models!!! New WP Suspension ist incredible, because it works precisely and accurately!!!

It’s only 49cc more, as it’s a 1350cc and the 1290 is actually 1301cc.

I definitely would go with the 1390 that's a no-brainer the biggest selling point for me is the valve adjustment at 37 k miles that's a huge selling point the extra performance is just a bonus.

People upgrading to the 1390 from a 1290 without first giving the 1290 to a good Dyno tuner, who can produce a quality set of maps throughout the rev range for each riding Mode, and exorcise the Euro 5 demons, is throwing money away. Removing the Cat and installing a quality mid-pipe (with resonator) to mitigate heat soak into the engine will gain significant improvement. Spending some of the leftover savings on tuning the existing suspension would also result in a big gain.

I have a question isn't it a bad idea to buy the first year of a new model bike? I am in the market for a super Duke in the next couple weeks and I'm very leery about buying the new model

I don't like the look of the 1390 or the 990, am I the only one? I'm still 100% getting a '23 890 R used over a new 990.

I think the only reason someone would like to upgrade to the new 1390 is if he loved the new design, for me i would buy the new one because the style for me is pretty badass, the old one is already good enough.

Dude why don't anybody mention the valve adjustment that's without a doubt the biggest selling point in most important part of this bike it's huge 37k miles bulshit with all that other stuff the bikes Overkill regardless of which model you pick the biggest selling point is the 37k me valve adjustment that's why I would purchase this bike.

@@TIMHARTTT believe it or not it's a huge difference the 2023 KTM Super Duke is only 18000 MI this one's like twice that that's a huge difference and no one addresses that you're talking about stupid things like they don't like the front of the bike looks or some bullshit if you've done a valve adjustment it's a pain in the ass and if you go to the dealership you're talking at least $1,000 but also it's a pain in the ass you got to tie your bike up. And I don't have the time to play games with my bike therefore it's a huge advantage that would make me want to buy this bike over any other bike.

The new KTM 1390 Super Duke R is horrible, keep your KTM 1290 and save your money because 1290's the headlight is beautiful and agressive, the 1390 is a stupid headlight, not is agressive and doesn't sense.
