You just took me back to my early 90s teenage years where all the punks and some of the metalheads I knew had a Champion 100 because it was the only affordable 100-watt amp you could get, and it came with the bonus of being a 2x12. And they all put a Boss DS-1 orange distortion pedal in front of it to get more gain out of it. Those older ones didn't have that voice feature at all, and the only effect they had was reverb.

@@Starch1b2c3d4a Since I wrote that comment I got a new 8 string guitar (my first one, it’s the Javier Reyes sig) and have been using the EQ Devices Plumes as a boost. I can get tones that are identical to the Mesa Boogie Badlander (I don’t believe it either), to sparkling, ambient clean sounds. The new guitar is part of the reason it sounds so killer but I’ve tried my old guitars through it and they sound amazing too. In short, I don’t feel so bad about the rig anymore lol. Eventually I’d like to upgrade my amp but since I can’t find anybody to play with, it doesn’t need to be very loud, so I’ll probably get some more pedals before a new amp. My only problem with the Fender Champion is that when I do turn it up, it gets a little messy.
