I have the Convert-2 which is their master grade converter which is a DAC and converts your signal back to analog. The unit you have is good for mastering back into your daw but it's not a master grade monitoring unit. The converter in the AD+ is reference grade. You need the Convert 2 to go with the AD+ for a real mastering system.

Men, I own few dangerous converter. I got impressed how few people are comparing those dangerous VS the quantum from presonus, you should check it,i am not gonna sell my dangerous gear because I like them but it is Tru that the difference between the presonus and the ad+ is like a 5%. Difference in price is huge.

I know man, in Pro Audio, a small difference will cost lot of money...cause all are in the sauration curve and if you spend a lo more, you can get a very small improvement, that what is the behavior of the ratio between cost/upgrade

Also saw those test, seems to me he really wanted the presonus to win, have a few converters from dangerous to hilo also own uad and antelope cards. Could be that the presonus card is just sounding better than burl and dangerous. In the blind test he did i pickt the presonus every time. Doing the blind test at home in a very treated room i pickt the hilo and dangerous over apollo and orion gen 3 everytime. Something about the fell when pushing my outboard gear, to me worth every penny

Yes! you can connect via ADAT, but I doubt I'would do a test in near period

its a symphony, you run your mix through a nice preamp back into the symphony to hit the converter and it should sound even better than this. Thats what the mastering grade studios are doing, as well remixers for album re-releases. You got one of the best tools ever.. use it the right way man.

@@justinupchurch1773 after doing this with a few pres and mix stems for the last year... notes ... the apogee converter tightens it all up, but sometimes exposes narrow stereo width in the final mix... just make sure to apply some widening if you notice it. the ad really makes everything tight and prisitne so the flaws show up

Jeff Ellis, famous mix engineer, uses simple 2 way 8' kali monitors exclusively, even for his atmos mixes, but uses smaller ones for atmos I think. He comes from a major studio, mixed the first Frank Ocean album. I have have jbl 7 series and neuman, but if I were to do it over again I would just for the Kali's. He uses them because of how well that they translate to everything else, like car stereos, etc.
