Those tires will defiantly sling mud, gravel, and general road grim up the side of your Rubicon (Jeep Spackle). In suppose they are adequate for the DSW but I live in the PNW and this was a real problem for daily driving. Every time we got out of the rig (going into work) we would get it on our legs, not to mention our new Jeep was never clean for more then a few minutes. I had to remove the factory rock slider and replace them with the Roam Sliders. The Rock Blockz Removable mud flaps have been a big improvement as well.

The rubbing that you show is exactly why I run 35s w/ my 2.5” lift. I do light to moderate trails & not much in the way of actual rock crawling. Aside from very deep ruts, that can usually be avoided; never felt the need for 37s & all the extra weight, wear, & rubbing (unless the center of gravity is increased w/ taller lift). I’ve also tried to always keep my Jeeps w/ 3” lift or less. I don’t like the on street/off street trade-offs that exist with every single taller lift setup. I really like what you’ve done so far - very functional & built with durability in-mind. 👍🏻

my 18 JLUR came with a dealer installed lift kit. the only thing i'm noticing is the springs are bowing on the front pretty bad. so they are about worn out, and they only have 8000 miles on them. you'll do just fine on that lift for now, but like everyone told me, it'll wear out faster than a true aftermarket kit.

Are you guys in In-Ko-Pah at the top of the Laguna Mountains, right before you drop into the desert? I was born and raised in San Diego and grew up in El Cajon and Lakeside. My 2 favorite off road places to go were In-Ko-Pah and Lake Moreno/Buckman Springs. There were also some spots that I knew about in the Laguna Mountains and Cleveland National Forrest, along with some places just outside of Alpine and Pine Valley. I just ordered my first Jeep, a 2021 JL Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. Prior to it, I was always a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 guy but this time around I was getting something that would be used primarily for off roading and going camping off the grid only. This time around I will also be keeping my full size truck too, as my primary daily driver. In the times in the past, when I had my Tacoma’s, I was in a position to where I could only afford 1 vehicle and had to use them as both my daily driver and off roading/camping vehicle and because I worked in construction at that time, I needed to have a truck as opposed to a Jeep. But now I am in a position as to where I can own both and I am pretty excited about finally getting a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I am going to have a tremendous amount of fun in that thing when I finally get it, when it comes in. We now live in Colorado and there are a ton of places that I can go that are only within a few hours away from me. If I’m ever back home in San Diego, I would love to go off roading with you guys sometime! Or if you’re ever out here, the same goes as well, if you ever visit our area again?

Hi, great video as usual. When moving to 37's with the 3.6L, or 2.0L turbo, 8th gear essentially goes away on a Rubicon with 4:10 gears. Since you have the diesel with 3.73 gears and have moved to 37's, I'm curious if 8th gear is still being used, given the diesel has so much more torque?

I know you want to keep it as stock-looking as possible, but you wouldn’t have any rubbing at all if you pull out those black inner fenders. The Rubicons come from the factory so that you can easily remove them. A few pop-clips and small plastic welds. Did it on my 2020 JLRUD and made a world of difference. I’m running the Rock Krawler Adventure Series 3 2.5” lift for diesels (just a different spring rate on the front for the extra 400lbs) with 37s, no rubbing at all with the inner fenders pulled out. Makes the rig look much more aggressive, too-which I know you may not be that in to.

Carli Suspension just finished their Diesel specific kit. The front upper control arms need a bend different than others because the diesel engine mount is so low. Carli Suspension teamed up with E-Click SHocks......VERY expensive but the ride is unbelievable!!! Carlis Suspension is in Lake Elsinore Calif. On another note, Carli Suspension has some REALLY nice springs for your Power Wagon....they are very specific to that model. Great video as always Brad. I received my JL Unlimited Rubicon in April 2018, pretty early on. There was not a lot of lift choices at the time and warranty was also a concern so I opted for the Mopar lift. I know they call it 2" but i got over 3". I'm running Dirty Life beadlocks (17 x 10) and Dick Cepek Extreme Country 37's. I did add an adjustable track bar to the front as the axle was about 3/4" off center. Mopar should include that or at least the extension bracket. I removed the plastic shields behind the rear tires and used the heat gun to re-shape the fender liners and now I can stuff it completely and only experience minor rubbing. I too feel that it is a little soft at times, but it does ride very well. I'm thinking I may upgrade to adjustable Fox or Bilstein shocks so that I can do a little tuning when the trail dictates.

Pretty surprised you went left field with the Mopar lift kit, but totally understand since it won't affect your warranty. I wished you went into more detail with that (I'm under the impression there's no difference). Glad you mentioned about the suspension sag though.
